-Console looks ugly. Why did they choose to make it long instead of wide? t's just weird....
-Why the power brick? Is there a technical reason for this? Does the power supply not fit inside the console? Why is PS3 the only console to not have a power brick?
-Wii U Pro controller looks nice. Wonder if its actually usable. The button placements seem like an odd choice.
-Wii U gamepad disapoints. Needs its own power chord to charge. No charging via USB, only 3-5hour battery life despite the console being the one doing all the work.....
-Launch line-up is nice but not anything that convinces me to jump ship since the best of the line-up is available on PS3/360 as well...

I'd prefer longer to wider. Why? Real estate on my entertainment centre front is scarce. Still looks a damn sight better than the plastic sliding top of the new PS3.

Power bricks are modular. Being the part that is most likely to fail (maybe 2nd now if you include a mechanical HDD), it can be replaced. It also reduces size of the console (once again, valuable real estate) and makes it more robust, due to not being in the same vicinity as hot AC transformers, bridge rectifier diodes and voltage regulators.

Button placement on the Wii U Pro controller seems very logical for FPSes. I personally prefer the 360 controller at the moment, due to the most common sticks and buttons being closer to the centre of focus for the controller, but I'd like to see how this one feels.

1) opinion, but I think it looks far better than the others. Also, in most entertainment centers, you have more depth vs height. So it will fit upright where my PS3 slim won't in my center.

2) Power brick separate means it can be made as one console for any region and the only thing needed to be changed out per box is the power cord since that will match the power requirements of that nation. Just makes it cheaper and easier than having the PS3s style where it has to be a super PSU to handle any power range of all nations.

3) Looks great, just gonna look dirty all the time. Should of been matte.

4) Its a high cost part and they obviously cut costs on battery size (would also add more weight). However, if you notice it has an easily openable battery compartment. I bet we'll see that utilized. Personally, 3-5hrs is more than enough for me I would think. obviously it would be nice if it were significantly more, but with a 6" screen chugging along and rumble it will go down. I will likely turn off rumble as I always do, so I should always get the 5ish hrs. Then I will make sure it always ends up back on the cradle. Finally, it has a cord that if people are smart they'll set its charging stand near their couch. A) it makes sense if this is utilized a lot for nongaming TV / media related stuff and B) it would be in range to just plug into gamepad as you're using it too.

5) I think the exclusive NSMBU/ZombiU and extra content of some ports make it worth it... plus the potentially better overall experience with gamepad. But of course this is back to opinions.

I kinda knew it would have a power brick that's why it is so small.

Doesn't the Wii have a power brick too? What's the big deal?

Pretty straight forward unboxing of a pretty straight forward console with pretty straight forward games.

Did I mention it looks pretty straight forward?

Man, why even bother answering VGKing? It's almost as if he's trolling. Not saying that he IS, but it's sure is weird how he came in here, did a little bashinh, left and never bothered to reply to any answers he got...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

Not gonna watch it, I prefer doing it by myself

Actually it was confirmed.

The reason being USB does provide enough power i.e. the pad would charge too slow (slower than its rate of consumption?)

I rememeber reading it for sure, but I'm too tired to look it up :p

If that is indeed the case the only solution is to buy a power extension cable and place it at your feet or on the sofa next to you. Just don't spill your beer on it if it is not splash proof.

Genius me.

Dont be a chicken do it EURO style!

Btw

Why dont people just buy a 50 cent  USB to WiiU charger cable then? I mean there is china cables for everything I can charge  my GBA SP  DS 3DS etc with my PC because I bought those USB to Nintendo-proprietary-plug cables on Ebay.  I am pretty sure those will show up within the first month after the WiiU released.

And I never had a problem.

Hell I can even charge my 3ds with a small solar charging station for phones.

^^Thanks for the info!
