Who the f&*^ cares? Gaming systems are still selling in massive numbers, when the software support is there, so stop it with the gloom and doom threads. This is not a pad site, its a gaming related site, so go and write them there.

Yes, smart devices are selling, but creating a new thread about how dedicated gaming devices are dead, every time a tab success story emerges, is just boring, and smells like spam to me...

I'd like to agree with you but i can't. Windows 8 may be a success for PC/Tablets, but Apple have shown they can constantly "innovate" with successive generations. Its come to a point where they can "hold back" features for the one after next device because they have such an unbeliveably strong brand, while X-box has started to remedy the situation Microsofts brand is nowhere near as lucrative. 

However i still don't understand why the hell people are buying an Ipad mini when you can get a Nexus 7 for $100/£100 less!

Also the Surface tablet is overpriced. 

Ipads do not effect game consoles being sold.  Windows always destroys its compitition and it is expected to do the same thing this time but also cut apple in the tabet/phone market.  Windows already owns the computer market so they're expanding now.

The only fact I'm aware of is that Apple announced 3 million iPad sales over a weekend. Analysts are only speculating (perhaps with the help of consumer surveys or supply chain interviews) how many of those were Minis, 4s, or even discounted 3rd gen iPads.

Now, looking at past performance, Apple shipped some 14 million iPads last quarter, and tallying up console sales over the same period gives me 7.9 million consoles sold from July to September. Consoles might see a larger holiday boost, but I think it's a pretty safe bet that there will be more iPads sold than game consoles this quarter. More iPad Minis? Probably not. The Mini seems to be supply constrained for now, even if they did constitute the majority of iPads sold.

and yes it will outsell the consoles if they can make enough of them..

PCs have been outselling consoles since pretty much forever.  Nothing can keep up with that.  If PCs outsell all of the consoles this holiday what does that mean?  PC games are already getting game of the year and game of the month from reviewers.  Maybe PC is the future of gaming after all?

so far all i can say is that gaming on "smat-devices" (phones and tablets) sucks. At least in my opinion. Until they can drasticly improve the experiance i doubt that thats the future.

No its not. We discuss this every time on VGC, and your thread is by far the most unprofessional, quickly thrown together, that I read in a while. You don't even take the time to get some serious source matterial in the OP. And who the hell is giving iOS games GOTY awards? Maybe Pocketgamer.co.uk, but that is a mobile gaming site, and its expected.
