Forums - Gaming Discussion - iPad mini sells more in 3 days than the Nexus 7 has sold in the past month

Android is OK, but to me it just feels like a bit of a mess compared to iOS or Windows 8 RT.

Yeah it's nice to customize things, but I was in the Sony store looking at one of their new Android phones, and my GAWD, whatever base interface they were using was ugly as sin (straight out of 1996) and was slowing down just by swiping through the main screen icons.

?? The new versions of android are way better then ios, what were you using a 5 year old build ona  slow device? Sorry but this is bollocks.

Oh man...wait till Superchunk sees this thread. :P

On topic... I'm sure Taylor Swift sells more concert tickets than Mindless Self Indulgence. But does that mean she is a better artist?

Yeah it probably does...carry on.

I'm probably going to regret this but who?

They are a pretty awesome late 90s early 2000s electronica/hard rock band. Not many people know of them so it's ok...

My point here is that there is going to be a dudes out there like me, that think they are much better artist than Taylor Swift...but for the general population and sales, this doesn't apply. Same goes with Apple and tablet sales at this point.

It's whatever demo version they had on the newer Sony Xperia phone at the Sony store as of yesterday in my area. Shrugs.

There were huge supply constraints on the iPad mini too; it was sold out basically everywhere. Android simply can't compete with Apple in the tablet market. Time will tell if MS can...

that is very very true, i cant understand why though

It's probably because the Android OS is even more horrendous on tablets than it is on phones.

That^^

On phone is not that bad, still not as good as iOS or Windows Phone 7.5 but still not bad.
On the other hand, on a tablet Android is a mess. Yes you can customize a lot more than the 2 others but it is at the expense of degrading the overall user experience and making a lot of apps (at least the one I want to use) not compatible with this resolution, or this tablet,etc...

I'm not even looking at the hardware specs for any tablet anymore as soon as I see that it is running Android.

More lies. Android 4.1 and soon 4.2 are a step above ios, and reviews all agree on that. I am thinking many of you tried android once and a low budget tablet with an older android version and assume all android devices were like it? NExus 7 is certainly nothing like you describe.

Well it is all subjective and a matter of oppinions. Insulting people of liars just because they do not agree with you will not change anything.
Please stay polite while trying to push your oppinion. I (and certainly others if you look at the thread), simply do not agree with you.

I do have a Nexus 7 (got it as a gift) and yes, it is like I describe it (in my eyes). It is okay for my kids to watch Netflix but not for me and from this price point I'm not saying it should as good as an iPad or a Surfacebut i feel like it is simply not the same quality as an OS and even as a device in the case of the Nexus 7.

Sorry if you disagree but you will not change my personnal oppinion.

Then you have a different nexus 7 then everyonbe else and out of all reviewers.......yeah I dont believe you. Responsiveness and fast performance is a strong suit of the nexxus.

The mobile section on vgchartz??  YEah brimming with experts. No the nexus 10 has ipad beat in almost every way in specs, cost per performance, features. . Read some ipad mini reviews, low specs, less features and more expensive. Early nexus 10 previews are glowing.

Have a look at GLBenchmark and then come back and tell me that the iPad 4 is beat technically by the Nexus 10.

http://www.webpronews.com/is-the-nexus-10-better-than-the-fourth-generation-ipad-2012-10

More ram, better screen more features...... none proprietary apple software, and it costs less...........................

So you were proven wrong and then default back to "better RAM".

RAM is not created equally. iOS doesn't have nearly the memory footprint of Android and therefore runs faster and smoother on "inferior hardware". If you don't need the horsepower to run the OS, why would you complain about less RAM, even though performance is better? More RAM is just another item to suck down battery power.

(note: I'm not bashing the Nexus 10, I think it's a fine tablet but every review is trumpeting the iPad 4... as an iPad 3 and iPhone 5 owner, I can only imagine what the A6 processor can do in that tablet).
