This kinda proves that in Nintendo, Miyamoto does whatever the hell he wants.

Fzero will do great on the 3DS, you watch

Good call. The 3D effect would probably work well with a game like F-Zero. Does anyone have any idea how the GamePad might work with a potential Wii U F-Zero game? I imagine it might become something of a liability, since you wouldn't want to take your eyes off the screen.

Wave Race is way better than f-zero!!!

To me, this is Nintendo's very first opportunity to do something new with the franchise. [Potentially] incredible visuals, along with all kinds of online/offline multiplayer modes, would revitalize the series. Unfortunately, though, it sounds like they've missed the boat. Maybe they still think online gaming is justa fad ;)

Tell you what guys.. how bout you all play the hell out of f-Zero mini game in Nintendoland non-stop!!.. let Nintendo see you all really like it and have logged hundreds and hundreds of hours each into it!... then that might convince them to actually make the game?.. oh and make lots of noise about it with your miis ... I mean that is where they will see if people are really interested.

How does his statement prove that?

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

I agree with the sentiment, but not applying it to this particular scenario.

As someone who is a big fan of WipEout's brand of futuristic racing, I thought the genre couldn't get any better than it did with 2097. 11 years after that game released, Pulse came along and showed me I was wrong. Then HD Fury combined the best elements of that game + Pure and wrapped it up in a fantastic 60 fps, 1080p package.

Point being? I thought F-Zero GX was great. That was the only one I played, so maybe it was the worst of the bunch, I know it certainly sold the worst. But it was also on the worst-selling platform. I think the foundation for improvements is there, definitely. You'll never know until you try. And finally, I think F-Zero is one of the series that would benefit most from being brought up to HD and possibly adding an online mode. I reckon that could be a pretty decent success for Nintendo.

But I must just be moaning about this because it's the 'in' thing to do, apparently. There must be no actual basis for an argument there. Heaven forbid people actually want something.

I'm pretty sure they confirmed that there will be no multiplayer though. I love the franchise, but I won't torture myself through a mini-game to give Nintendo a false image of F-zero's actual demand.

As a couple have pointed out, nobody really wants a new F-Zero. They just want to moan about it because it's the "in" thing to do.

F-Zero mechanics can't cut it in the 21st century anyway.

You could not possibly be more wrong.

Is Miyamoto a troll or something?

"I am also very curious and I’d like to ask those people: Why F-Zero? What do you want that we haven’t done before?"

And what about New Super Mario Bros series? Every new game is basically the previous with new power ups and little things.

We need moar Zelda, now!

We need moar Unchartedzz!

We need less DLCs.

Man, I need a new Fzero and Star Fox. I don't care what you say, Fzero GCN is fun as heck. One of my favorite racing games of all time. Not that wipeout $^%# with stupid weapons and the lack of interesting characters. Shigeru, if you remake it, DO NOT ADD WEAPONS.
