Just like PS1 production was stopped in March 2006, about 6 months before PS3 launch. Which mean PS4 should launch 2013 and not 2014. And another reason to believe that Sony didnt ship over 2 millions in last two quarters. More like 800k-900k at best o even less.

It does remind me that I should buy another PS2 soon, though. Still have a launch model that works fine, but I have such a big collection which I still play regularly, wouldn't want to lose access to them.

Hmmm.... might not be a good financial move. Slowing down PS2 production, sure but stopping it all together might be a bad idea. Those things are likely very good profit.

EDIT: if this really is because of lack of resources for the PS4 then damnit, that thing better go for atleast a 30$ profit or something.

Because i dont think Sony will stop production of a concole shipping 1 million every quarter. Thats more then Wii and almost on par with 360.

Still selling Millions of units in expanding markets. Still bringing in much needed profit for Sony.

Basically, this aint true.

They make profit if they sell. And since 4th quarter of 2011 PS2 shipment has been on decline, the reason is because of PS3 price cut in 2011. So the difference between PS3 and PS2 price is becoming less and less, and people would rather buy PS3 or 360 even in devoloping countries.
