Forums - Sony Discussion - anyone else think AC: Liberation is a failure?

Just downloaded the patch, hopefully this fixes some of the performance problems.

I had a rough time with it as well. Visuals and framerate were fine for me. It's actually pretty impressive. What I hated was the gameplay itself, the story wasn't pulling me in at all, and some bugs that I encountered (though that's kinda the norm for open-world) games.

I see some people are talking Most Wanted on the Vita in here. Now that game is amazing. I have zero issues with that title and it's visually awesome with a full fledged open world.

4 ≈ One

To the people thinking this game would be on the same level as the console version, you all are complete idiots. Ive bought the game and the frame rate drops are not as frequant as you all make it out to be. Its only a failure to your unrealistic spectaions.

I am slightly mad about AC and really enjoying AC III and the reviews are concerning me

I haven't bought it yet because I know that it will pale in comparison to AC III, but I was still hoping that it would be good enough to pick up later. I though Ubi would have thrown some decent resources behind this, but it seems they haven't been that bothered

It does at the very least seem an improvement on Bloodlines, where the City was divided into so many small areas and the camera just such a pain, it wasn't very fun

The fact is, even with bug, glitches and bad graphics, this is a game in a large city still with all the free running from AC and that is what makes AC different and I think that alone should redeem it from failure. Having said that, I haven't played it....

I want to like Liberation. I like Aveline a lot, but the story is a mess and the aliasing is raping my eyes. This feels like Gravity Rush all over again for me. Likeable Main character in a shallow world with a shallow storyline.

I'll kick myself if CoD Declassified turns out to be better than Liberation.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

I know right, I saw the LQ off screen footage of Declassified and it actually looked good. But offscreen footage is bound give off that impression. I've been hating on that game for so long, I'd actually be quite butt hurt if it turned out good lol. No, but seriously if it does, it'll be a welcome surpirse and would definitely help the Vita.

It could very well be that you have a slightly varied exprience of the game then others. My brothers Skyrim file was far more glitchy then mine. WIth regards to Liberation I can hands on my heart say the frame rate drops pretty much every time Aveline jumps one from onject to the next and very frequently when you're just walking around.

And by this you mean? No one expected the graphics to equal AC3 but the aliasing on it is amongst the worst of all Vita games, the visuals only annoyed me because the false screens and trailers they've been posting all this time. Aside from that all the other stuff should be on the same level as AC3, theres no reason for it not to be other then poor development choices and laziness.
