Brilliant thread :D.
By the way, how come people are so desperate to believe that guy that wrote that one article that 90% of 360 owners were xbox owners (Yes, my awesomeness has allowed me to use "that" 3 times in a sentence and for it to still make some gramatical sense). From my experience (this is around 30 people) the ps2 owners mostly converted to the 360 and the xbox owners converted to the PS3.......

Honestly, Pachter's claim (in this case, anyway) makes more sense than yours. The XBox has had no support for 2 years. It's users are likely comfortable with XBox live and many, likely, wanted Halo3. I do not find it hard to believe that 14-15 million of the 24 million or so XBox owners have chosen to go with the 360 (though I would actually expect the number to be a little lower).  Now it so happens that no one has provided that essential piece of evidence that would confirm or disconfirm that statement, but that doesn't mean that we can't acknowlege that Pachter's claim is not that improbable.

"You may be woundering why I created this thread.  I created this thread so we could Strategize on the upcoming year.  So we could plan on how to bring PS3 domination to the World."

Shouldn't your name be 'Brain', or 'Pinky'?

Tho, i suppose, 'bluey brain' might work as well.

("What are we going to do today, Bluey Brain?"   "The same thing we do every day, Pinky Dink.  Plot to take over the world via PS3.")

Torturing the numbers.  Hear them scream.

This thread is what it is on purpose, and its great.

Of my friends, I bought a 360 at launch, and then a PS3 just after launch.
Convinced 3 different PS2 owners to buy a PS3, (they made the decision themselves though) and another friend just got a PS3 who also owns a 360.

All of the previous PS2 owners did not have a hard decision to make because they were all huge Gran Turismo fans.

Oh and another friend who already had a 360 and a wii just got a PS3.

So that is 5 personal friends of mine with PS3's , six including me.

I would say that the real decision is between the PS3 and 360 for most of them, and never considering to buy a wii.

Of this small sampling of people, one of them hates the wii for being kiddish. One Loves it for the continued great Nintendo IP's. One has a little sister who owns one, and the rest of them including myself are not in that mass market that the wii targets, and really are indifferent about it.

So, at OP- you are right the word does need to be spread.
But if you consider how the PS3 and 360 are somewhat comparable, and together their sales are close to the other market of the wii, then it all makes sense.

Sony marketing is establishing market awareness slow but sure.
I saw a new commercial for the PS3 the other day targeted entirely at Blu ray capabilities.
I think this is a good approach. If they showcase everything in one commercial, it would be the best- but too confusing for most consumers.

The PS3 does so much, with more features every day, and itemizing these features in different commercials will better educate the public.

People should buy whatever console they want, but choosing a favorite for me was very simple. I love hardware, technical, high grade, top shelf, shiny, long lasting, and ever advancing hardware.
And there is only 1 video game console that is the above. The PS3

with software, price, advancing features, hardware reliability, and blu-ray all becoming stronger and stronger, it will be hard for those sitting on the fence to ignore the PS3 for too much longer

Once again Great thread.

yey! my first post!

i'll be getting a ps3 when final fantasy xiii and tekken 6 comes out.

i was orignially going to buy an xbox360 coz of its larger liblary of games but microsoft themselves convinced me not to buy a 360and instead save up for a ps3.

why would microsoft do such a thing? well, they didnt indirectly, just that the 360 has so much hardware issues that i'm not gonna risk buying 1 and end up with a deffective unit. (and no, warranty is not an opption where i live)

i figure, it'll be best to buy a ps3 this year and then a 360 next year or sometime later when they've released another model after the jasper model.

This thread won't work, because we are amongst too many Wii freaks. Wii need bigger ammo. Throw us KH3 Exclusive for the ps3 :P That will burn the Wiieaks

  Unleash The Beast!

End of 2011 Sales: Wii = 90mil, 360 = 61mil, PS3= 60mil

We can beat the Wii owners with superior third party and online support.
