Forums - Sony Discussion - Can Sony save Crash Bandicoot?

Tagged games:

So I was looking at that top 10 selling PSX games and I noticed that Crash Bandicoot was a beast sales wise, then Universal parted ways with Sony and now Crash has become irrelevant.  Think Sony/Naughty Dog can resurrect this poor bandicoot?  Or is Crash damned to ... Activision's(?) destruction of gaming?

I think Sony should buy it back and make Crash4. There hasn't been a crash game in like 4 years so its been a long break

I'm expecting him to headline the next Skylanders game...

Why did they sell him and Spyro anyway?

They had a partnership with Universal Studios gaming division, Universal actually owned Spyro and Crash.  Sony was just the publisher.  Universal eventually made Vivendi as their publishing arm and broke of from Sony, I think something like that.  Activision bought Vivendi.  @ryan, I don't think a Nintendo reboot is gonna help considering that didn't help before.

They can't even come to some agreement with Activision to get him in Playstation All-Stars. I see no hope of them even developing for the IP, let alone getting it again.

Plus, who would do it, Naughty Dog? They're busy with their own projects these days, they've moved on.

Crash will return one day, but I fear his era of relevance is gone. His only hope is something like Skylanders, really. And even then, that series is about the action figures & premise far more than it is about Spyro.

Only Naughty Dog can revive Crash, not happening.

Crash is already on Nintendo platforms, I don't think releasing it solely on Nintendo platforms will be able to bring it back to its previous relevancy.

yes Sony should by Crash back.
