Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why am I already seeing Bioshock Infinite commercials on TV?

Generally when I see a game I really like, I go over to Amazon, pre-order it, and then forget about when it actually comes out so I get a nice little surprise on a random Tuesday.  A few nights ago I see a Bioshock Infinite commercial on TV or Hulu (forget which) and think, sweet!  This game must be coming out soon if they're starting a marketing push.

This morning I decide to check exactly when the game was coming out thinking it was odd that it would release right around Halo 4 and see that it doesn't release until February.

Wait, what?

I can understand releasing trailers to various gaming news sites, but why spend the money this early for TV marketing?

Around the Network

I think 2k games already bought the airtime before it was delayed... canceling is expensive and since Borderlands and X-com are already out they have 0 games coming out during the holidays... so next thing to do is to look at the next big game after the holidays which is Bioshock

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

Because Take-Two is an incomputent publisher.

Why not. Sure beats announcing a game a few months before it comes out and never advertising it.
