So I was wondering what every ones thoughts are on Nintendos next hand held  (the successor to the DS).

No one can dismiss Nintendos domination in the hand held market, however Sonys PSP has done a good job in taking market share away from Nintendo in an area where sony hadnt ventured before.

Over the last 6-8 months the PSP has increase its sales volume and has showed some good sales numbers over the second half of 2007 (the games sales are another matter).

Also Nintendo has seen a huge demand for the DS, and over the Christmas period was sold out in many regions.

What should Nintendo do increase and continue their domination in the hand held market?

Could it be to Nintendo's advantage to release the DS Advanced this year at a higher price point while still promoting the DS? (Similar to the fan boy pictures we have seen on the Internet, higher spec processor etc, MP3 player built in, completely backwards compatible with the DS games and with GBA support)

So basically im asking

• When would be the best time for Nintendo to release this new console??
• What should Nintendo do increase and continue their domination in the hand held market?
• What should be the new features of this Handheld?

I dont think you can guess what Nintendo are up to now adays. The Wii and DS were so different to what people were expecting.

I'm saying around 2010.

The realese of PSP nearly forced Nintendo to close down the GBA and realese DS, but. They are in a total different position now. Even if Sony realese their PSP-2, i think Nintendo have confidence enough to wait. I hope they wait 3-4 years

Probably not fot at least 3-4 years, because while PSP's are selling PSP software isn't, at least not that well, DS software on the other hand sells like gangbusters. PSP is a media device not a gmaing dedeice, and hasn't stolen much of nintendo's handheld gaming market as DS is on the way to outsell the GBA and PS2

i think its successor will be released on 2010,but i dont know what ninty will put on it to make it special

 Too early, no reason to move with a successor as long as DS continues to sell and no viable alternative is out there to threaten its sales, if Sony or some other company announces a new Handheld then maybe

in 2011 cause DS is schooling
hopefully it has an analog stick

I believe they are exploring the possibility of motion controls in their next handheld.
