If someone has peace in mind saying it is a clone, let him be. Most of the people don't care actually.
It's not a clone, it's a rip-off. There's a difference. Fo' sho', bro.
Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
It's a rip-off definitely. But it plays differently. It is no way better than any smash bros game and it isn't as fun.
If anyone considers Battlefield, Call of Duty, Far Cry, etc. (FPSs) clones of each other then you kind of need to consider All-Stars a clone of Smash.
And I will say again, why is that a bad thing? Smash is effing awesome, if Sony manages to recreate those epic chaotic battles I love from Brawl I will be all over All-Stars.
Platinums: Red Dead Redemption, Killzone 2, LittleBigPlanet, Terminator Salvation, Uncharted 1, inFamous Second Son, Rocket League

for me the people that set so much importance on that can't really be considered gamers honestly, just fanboys
...only a fanboy would care about something so inconsequential
Chark said: There is no doubt this game is very similar, but not a clone. They didn't take match character fighting style with different faces in different backgrounds. There isn't a Kirby like character, a Samus like character, a Hyrule like level, etc. They made their own stuff. -Scores are based on kills and deaths. 2 points per kill -1 per death |
While I agree there's enough differences, some of the differences you list here are actually similarities.
- PSASBR has a dodge mechanic, on ground and air that works on attacks and specials (Smash has spot dodge on the ground and air dodge in the air)
- Attacks utilize three buttons, Square, Triangle, & Circle, each having a normal, a forward, an up, and a down attack (Smash works in the same way, only with two buttons)
- Grabs have a forward, an up, and a down attack (Smash has up, down, foward and backward attack from grab)
- Levels evolve and expand (Many Smash levels do the same like Delfino Plaza, Frigate Orpheon, Battleship Halberd, etc...)

atleast I'm sure they would have a strong audience there, while if you are focussing on "all audiences" you can easily end up with no audience at all
btw cute chars with gruesome brutality works really well, just look at happy tree friends

After the beta, the meta will kill this game.
PSASBR is a ripoff for sure. Played the Vita beta and they even ripped off the likes of the announcer from Smash bros. In my opinion though its plays worse then Smash bros. Also Sony were way too dependant on the third party characters. They have other good first party characters but they stuck with some weird ones.
