1. I work in retail. This has had zero impact on Dishonored sales.

2. Dont blame Bethesda blame the PS3. Its a know fact that the PS3s RAM can barely handle Skyrim and thats the problem. Both Sony and Bethesda know it thats why theres been no fix. Its a hardware problem not a software problem

so PS3 cant run fallout 3 either? oblivion? a fucking game from 2006!! because its too weak? are you FUCKING kidding me!! some people on this site are getting beyond ridiculous. my laptop from 2002 can run fallout 3 with no problems and you think the ps3 cant?

I had no game breaking issues with Obvlivion or Fallout 3 on PS3. Completed both titles.

I had not too many issues with Skyrim either, just the lag, but I couldn't deal with it. I'll get it down the road if things get ironed out, which they no doubt will, but that will require you to buy the GoTY edition.

oblivion was mostly fine because it wasnt actually developed by bethesda. anything that is, just doesnt run on ps3. like both fallouts and now skyrim. the point i was making though was to benvtrigger about ps3 not being able to run skyrim because of its architecture. ps3 can definately run fallout properly yet it still has alot of the same problems skyrim does. its pretty obvious that its bethesda's fault. maybe they should have developed with multiple platforms in mind instead of just thinking about xbox.

New Vegas was worse than Fallout 3 and was done by Obsidian.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

This game should have never released on PS3, all it did was hold back the PC and 360 versions and caused bad publicity. The problem is people are really stupid.

Does anyone with a brain in their head really think Sony would have just been fine with this game not coming out on their system? Do you think they would have been fine with a late or gimped version? Sony and MS both have policies that demand that multiplat games are equal in content (never heard anything about performance). This is as much Sony's fault as it is Bethesda's.

Bethesda is at fault for making the PS3 version of this game, they should have a made a special gimped PS3 version since that system CLEARLY can't handle Skyrim as it was meant to be.

Sony is at fault for letting this shit release on their system. Fuck the architecture, people know what they're working with now and that's not a good excuse anymore.

Its not my opinion that the PS3s RAM is the problem with this game......its a known fact

it has nothing to do with ram. skyrim aint that great, graphics are standard. these guys couldnt even run angry birds on ps3 smoothly. they have no idea how to develop on ps3, no interest in learning and couldnt give a fuck about any of their fans.

In fact for those of you who dont understand where the major bugs are coming from let me explain.

As you pick up and move items in the world of Skyrim they are permanently fixed into the environment. At first this doesnt have too much impact on the game and isnt too taxing on the RAM. However as we all know Skyrim is a gigantic game and over time as the player picks up and moves more and more objects that more and more items that must be rendered in their new locations in real time. This becomes hugeky taxing on the RAM and is also why you see more and more problens the longer you play Skyrim on PS3. It litteraly becomes glitchier the longer you play the game.

Adding Dawnguard a whole new expansion with tons of new items and new areas would tax the consoles RAM even further. The PS3 already struggles to run the base game so at the moment its out of the question to add Dawnguard. Thats why Sony have been unable so far to help Bethesda get it working because its quite litteraly a hardware problem with this particular game.

Hope that helps

It's most definitely not "PS3's fault", because it has almost the same RAM as the 360. It's not like bethesda is using the entire PS3's archtecture to its advantage and still failing.

And bethesda has had problems with RAM for generations now. On PC, on both 360 and PS3, they have always had problems with the RAM.

Mantlepeicek you seem to be unaware of how the actual architecture of the RAM differs between the consoles.

While they have pretty much the same "amount" of RAM the PS3s is actually split into 2 different 256mb sections which are used seperatly between the CPU and GPU. The 360 has 512mb of dynamic RAM which runs faster and can be used pretty much openly for anything. The way that Skyrim accesses RAM for the game works well for 360 due to it being faster and more open ended

I had very few issues with my version of Skyrim despite people claiming it was a glitch fest. Bethesda should just release the DLC at a discount rate.

Devs have already said there are are ways to overcome this problem.

Besides, bethesda could have made some in-game alterations so that the PS3 ver of the game was a bit inferior to the 360 when it comes to object handling etc.

About this talk... Bethesda is not that good dev... not just for PS3 but for all platforms.

They have issues on 360, PC, PS3, etc.

They are bad technical devs... just it.
