Forums - Sony Discussion - Official PS Vita Release Calender(Sly in Feb, Soul Sacrifice in April, Killzone:Mercs in Sept!!!)

Vita has a good games library. It just needs a price drop and a some really big games to really drive hardware adoption to spur sales and get more 3rd party support.

nah, Vita doesn't need a price drop as you can get bundles for $250 or so, wich makes it just around $200. What the Vita needs is some decent marketing campain. Good marketing works for the Ipad which is expensive as shit.

Good marketing is all it needs. comericals, print adds, in store promotions, radio adds, the works. Sony just needs to let people know that the PS Vita actualy exists while high lighting its game library, which is pretty awosome come holdiay season.

Too bad, its like Sony is doing their hardest to make sure that people dont know about the Vita, its like a reverse anti marketing campain.

Knytt Underground will be released around New year.

Gungho? I thought Xseed produced Ragnarok Odyssey and Dokuro is from GameArts right?

Vita has a great library of games so far and this holiday its only getting better.
If sales don't pick up after the holidays, they never will.

I am a tad confused how it all works my self. I just looked it up and it appears that GungHo partly publishes and hosts online servers for GameArts, somehow also in conjuction with XSeed. They also participate in the development in a few of their games. I read some article and GH was quoted as the Publisher for Dokuro, Ragnorak Odyssey, and Picotto Knights.

Ok I research on it and I've found out that GungHo have branch in America, Back on they days when PS2 are hit most of the good JRPGs are made by them, I hope they localize some of them lol. Game Arts and Xseed publish good games like YS how are they connected to Gungho

I think GungHo deals with their games that have some level of online or downloadables mostly. They mainly host Gaming Servers and assist with either development or Publishing.XSeed is pure Publisher for the most part, GameArts is pure Developer.

The GameStop that I pre-ordered the Mercenary Edition of Ragnarok keeps telling me the game isn't street dated. I said that everyone has been talking about an Oct. 30th release for the game and that is what it says in there computer. However, the manager of the store says they don't have either version of the game in.

I use to work for this same store and it currently got a complete overhaul of management. I feel the jackoff os lying, but at the same time it isn't like a niche JRPG didn't actually release on the day it was support to (The Last Story, White Knight Chronicles, White Knight Chronicles II, etc.)

While I dont put it past them that they could be lying, maybe not. Gamestop does not seem to even get a decent stock of Vita games if at all. I think they just are not ordering them. I stated in the Official Vita thread, I went into Gamestop several times and none of them had LBP Vita even displayed, or showed any knowledge that the game was even out. They simply don't care. I think they want the Vita to fail, because they were the main ones giving Sony grief about making all DD games cheaper than their physical counterparts.

Also something to be aware of. Some store employees will blatantly lie to a customer in order manipulate them. For instance, they might purposely not sell certain games, tell customers they are out of stock because they didn't pre-order, then reintroduce them into the sales floor. Especially for niche titles, they want to give the impression that if you do not preorder than supply is very limited.

As I stated. I use to work for GameStop...

Now I'm overseeing the Electronics Department at a Super Target that was built as a prototype store. Complete night and day difference. Target has a lot of improving to do with gaming, but they are trying new things. And even dipping into GameStops market. If you have a Super Target near you, then you also have a Target Mobile in the Electronics Department and that means you can trade things in for Target Electronics credit. Which can be applied to anything in the store. Not just Electronics.

I dispise GameStop and how terrible of a company they are to their employees. Quotas, Quotas, Quotas. Built on top of lies, lies and more lies.

I didn't know Target did that, might need to shop there more often. I know Best Buy is now doing used games.
