Not only will the "Just Dance" crowd migrate over, but so will the Wii Call of Duty crowd(which will grow exponentially). As kids grow older, they will migrate from the Mario games to the Call of Duty without even needing to purchase a new console....Wii U is the best of both worlds. Hardcore and Casual.

Wii U has the ability to appeal to EVERYONE, it is up to Nintendo to promote it and its up to Nintendo to build strong relationships with 3rd parties. If a game like Black Ops 2 doesn't sell well on Wii U, nothing will. If FIFA/Madden won't sell, no other sports game will. So how can Nintendo make sure these AAA franchises sell on Wii U? That's the real question here....post your thoughts. Bundles is all I can come up with.

Can Wii U keep those "hardcore" players once the PS4/720 come out and start getting certain games exclusive and/or superior 3rd party versions of big games?

That's my bigger question. I'm sure it will have a solid launch, but 2013 Jan-May are going to be more indicative of the Wii U's long term success.

I hate to say it, but I think longterm Microsoft has a better formula for getting both casual players (Kinect stuff) and hardcore players (Halo + all the 3rd party content).

Wii U has BLOPS2 this year, but what about next year for example? That would probably be Modern Warfare 4 ... is MW4 going to run the same as it does on XBox 720? If the answer is no, then I see most of that fanbase sticking with the XBox brand.

Bundles and marketing... If you got a kiddie image and wanna change that, you have to do something about it - not just sit around with your thumbs up your ass, saying 'We appeal to a wide range of audiences'.

Get more 3rd party exclusives (well get more 3rd party support - period) and do some more "mature" 1st party games.

Oh, and make sure that the next PS720 won't crush your new console power wise!!!

It will do well, not Wii sorta of figures, but I reckon either 1st or 2nd next gen.

I'm just kinda curious about this -- so what happens when CoD: Modern Warfare 4 inevitable comes in fall 2013 and the XBox 720 version is 1080p with a ton more DX11 effects and a lot better looking with the new XBox Live network behind it?

Will the Xbox 720 be amazingly more powerful?

What will WiiU online be like? Xbox live is good, but filled with racist, sexist weirdos. The crap you hear on there is ridiculous. Will WiiU be better?

I'll probably have an Xbox too. This gen I had Wii & 360. I buy which ever version is on my main console. Which will be WiiU, if the kinect built in rumors are to be believed. I have no space to use it.

I don't see PS360 gamers moving to the Wii U.

However if the console is going to have proper third party support I think that many of the Wii U owners will not buy another console (PS4 or Xbox8) in the future.

I agree every service has it, but thats the main reason I never use voice chat and have to mute the complete idiots.

I always have 2 systems. 1 is Nintendo, the other Xbox for 2 gens so far. Gives me the best of both worlds.

My other system next gen will depend on what is offered by Microsoft or Sony.

I'm going to bet once you see the difference you're going to end up buying multi-plats on the 720 though.

720 will be more comparable to modern PC rigs IMO, you can already see with games like Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313 there's already a gap ... once devs get to use these consoles with closed environments, that gap is going to become even more noticable.
