Stupid Norwegians!

I don't think the common norwegian support this decision. There is a reason we said no to joining the EU twice. Blame the out of touch Torbjørn Jagland for this stupid decision, it is nothing more than sucking up. And the only reason Obama got the award was because Jagland wanted to meet him.

Kowen lol the EU deserves this... There hasn't been a peace in europe for this long since the roman empire. So it's not because you hate it ( like we all know) that they don't deserve it. The EU is the future of europe.... You better get used to it because it won't take long before the EU becomes a complete political union like the usa

I can exactly tell you WHY. Because Norway found oilfields in the ocean and joining the EU would force Norway to share the oil.  They refuse to join the EU becaue of the OIL nothing else. Its proven and Its a known fact. Its not like the government somehow thinks it has to defend its citizens from the bad EU or something lol.

Good that at least 1 person knows what he is talking about NOT.  You do realize that you only talk about negative stuff the EU did? And some of your points make no sense at all. The EU got it for "decades of accomplishments in the political arena"  Such as making former enemise France Germany etc "friends" etc.

If you dont get why the people gave it to the EU I am sorry for you.

In this case there's so much conflict going on that is beyond the ability of any single human to stop, so they can't even pick someone.

It's pathetic and politically motivated as usual. By the liberal elite, just like Kow said in the OP.

Instead of giving the price in hindsight to someone who really deserves it, the comittee wants to send a positive message about a person or institution they favor.

Yes... a semi-third world declining superpower, destroyed by cultural relativism and incompetence of its leaderships. Like the USA indeed.

Don't fool yourself, the only thing keeping a conflict from happening is the influence of the NATO and the USA, weapons of mass destruction and the push for cultural relativism and the eternal reminder of the WW2 who made europeans one of the most passive people on Earth... but still not enough to surrender sovereignty and accept political union like you, my enthusiastic friend, suggests, or to keep their hands forever away from arms. Move NATO away from the balkans for instance and in a few years the map is going to be redrawn.

The peace argument, I mean is there a more childish argument to use in politics?

It was the biggest argument used by the pro-EU side when we in Sweden had the popular vote about whether to join the EU or not in 1994 or so (this argument together with the economical argument lol, that we'd be isolated economically if we wouldn't join the EU).

But it worked, we we're tricked into the EU. For nothing good whatsover. Nothing! Instead we've been paying 2 billion Euro per year in membership fees and subsidies, plus having regulations that we don't need forced upon us.

Thanks to the EU we didn't get another Hitler in power, right? lol. It's just so stupid.

As if we would need the EU for the UK, Germany and France to never go to war against each other again. Such a joke. Not even USA got into war against Russia in 40 years of Cold War and it wasn't even close that they would.

I always wonder how can you make such an accurate analysis of Europe and the bad state we're in when you are living overseas. (you are a native Brazilian, right?)
