Forums - Sony Discussion - Vita’s fight for life: After almost a year, has Sony’s handheld managed to distinguish itself?

Yeah see what you're saying :) agreed.

Hooray! I can articulate my thoughts well enough to not sound like a completely crazy person! But I think I will quit while I'm ahead here...

The problem of Vita is not the games, cause there are a lot of games.

The real problem is Sony and the lack of ads, no ads for LBP vita, we saw the result... ( true ad of course, on the TV, it makes the difference, when we see 200 ads in one day for NSMB 2, we see nothing for the Vita... ! )

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

Nah you put it quite well...think I'm just an argumentative retard sometimes :)

The Vita is an outstanding machine, but Sony has allowed this thing to die. An amazing launch lineup that was followed by ports of year old games...sounds like a certain system that is launching in about a months time.

However that system is being brought out by a company that starts with N. So it will still sell.

The Vita needs more games that are worth a damn. Persona 4, PlayStation All-Stars and Assassin's Creed III: Liberation will be defining games. But Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified won't be good (I have no faith in Nihilistic what so ever) and Ragnarok Odyssey would help, but that damn thing keeps getting delayed.

Then there is the simple fact that we know almost nothing of what is coming for 2013 and things went from being absolutely amazing for the Vita before launch to...it will die in the next year of two.

It doesnt matter what sonys "intention" is in terms of marketing the product, the current strategy isnt working...

Vita is a high end device living in a "low end" climate, 3ds is struggling against android/iphone...vita is doing even worse.

It it succeeds than good, people should want quality. But whether it succeeds or fails BE PREPARED for playstation°mobile. It's the future...welcome to the smartphone revolution.

Wouldn't say the 3DS is struggling, it's doing very well and has been for the past 9-10 months.

What channels are you watching? I never see any Nintendo ads.

Same here, I mean yes there were literally hundreds of ads for NSMBW a few years ago. But haven't seen any for NSMB2. Also, at least in the UK the Vita is advertised constantly during Champions League football matches, which are extremely popular here along with branding all over the sidelines, adverts during breaks, and branding when players are interviewed on billboards after match.

It should be called the Sony Champions League, it's that prolific.

The DS was selling 300k weekly, 3ds barely outsells PS3. Facts are facts lol.

Lets not even mention iphone/android sales along with app/app game sales. Lets not argue for arguments sake lol.

Barely outsells the PS3? It's doing around 200k a week, the PS3 did more than that this week but that's because of FIFA13 and the Super Slim, which is temporary. Usually the PS3 is at around 120k. That's not even close.

Also, at this stage in it's lifetime the DS was doing similar numbers, it took years for the DS to really kick off in sales. So I'm sorry but you're completely wrong.

So yes, let's not argue for arguments sake but let's not just make stuff up either.
