so yeah as the tittle says my disk reader stoped reading games, so i got a 80 GB Fat PS3. i had it for over 3 years and i been using the hell out of it. well today the disk reader just stoped working, it wont take in the CD's any more. i can keep pushing the CD inside but it just want take automatically like it should, did anybody ever have this problem before? can any one help?

Did you drop the console? Ive had someone come in with the same problem. Best advice is to take it to a repair shop or check out some videos so you can attempt to fix it yourself. I'll warn you ahead of time, the opened drive can be pretty difficult to work on.

it's simple,just give up on that old ass system(i owned ps3 from 2007 to roughly 3 weeks ago) & pre order the Wii U

loool so i i just wont play all my games that i have anymore miss out and The last of Us, GoW ascension, tomb raider, beyond : two souls, littlebigplanet karting, puppeteer, along with other games i want to play like dead planet, 1,2 and 3, LA noire, and portal so i can get a WiiU? thanks but no thanks :P

so if I understand correctly the intake system for discs is broken huh?

first you should make sure there is no disc inside the PS3 as obviously then the PS3 wouldn't take another disc - I'm sure you already did that, but yea, sometimes people neglect the most obvious step

if that's out of the way, what symptoms do you have? does it beep if you try to insert a disc? does the blu-ray drive make a noise like it's pulling in a disc right after you start up the PS3? does the drive sound like its pushing out a disc if you press eject?

this is why I buy few backup consoles. As the modern tech is so complex anything can break. Not like back in the day of NES the only thing you really had to worry about was the pin adapter lol.
