Interresstttinnngg. I am getting all ghouly already! I have gone off on a long Google journey to discover the meaning of this poem, and lo and behold you have brought me to the lands of Christian Mythology and English litterature. Thou likeneth thyself to the Monster, or to Adam?

Heh. I was using it in the context of Frankenstein, though it was originally from Paradise Lost. So I'd be the monster in this analogy that has been formed against my will by Dr Frankenstein (Sony). I guess their innocent but destructive intention is their company philosophy towards gaming and their unnatural methods of creation are good games and good hardware. It's best not to pry any deeper or the analogy could fall apart

I don't hate man united, I hate their fans.

I couldn't care less if a company succeeds or fails. Aside from the tragedy for the workforce it isn't something that moves me, companies come and companies go. It's business. Its life.

What's man united and why do you hate their fans?

It's a gay club and he must be a homophobe.

I'm a big Nintendo fan and personally I can talk to a xbox fan we we would have no problem talking about games.
Sony fans are the worst I'm sorry.

How many times do they go to bother wii fans saying you have inferior games because your games are made for kids.
I seen ONE xbox fan do this but hundreds of sony fans.

90% of a troll thread talking about other companies failing or just hate like all the Wii-U is going to fail and misinformation comes from Sony fans.

Xbox fans are pretty cool and Nintendo fans are pretty relax. There are times when Nintendo lash out if you talk to them it's usually because of all the abuse from Sony fans. If you were to interview a xbox fan on which company they don't like they would mostly say Sony because of it's fans same for Nintendo.

Plus all we hear from Sony fans are usually about the past and how there still winning (yes people say this because some don't consider wii current gen) and think Xbox is just a port machine.

So do you enjoy seeing Sony fail or not?

I enjoy when they screw up but do I want them to die?

....no....

Don't hate mircosoft but if they died I wouldn't care :/

Agreed on all points. So many people use console preference as a reason to form in-groups and out-groups. It's really childish and turns people into enemies based on such meaningless criteria. I don't mind praising your favorite console or company; what gets me is people who feel the need to constantly speak ill of the others at every oppurtunity. I mainly see this happening to Sony since I mainly browse Sony threads, but I'm sure it happens to the other two companies as well. I can't understand what people get out of doing that.

@ bold, that pretty much hits it spot on for me too.  I just don't understand it.  If their defence is "But they did it to us first!" then I don't find that a very good one - simply because those people causing the problems in the first place are mostly long gone by now.  It just perpetuates a cycle of hate.

In any case, Rol's explanation is actually quite fitting, as unfortunate as it may be.

@bold. Exactly.

That's why I said it's all inside me, in my case. I need to learn to not let it spread. Keep it in me, and inform others about it to help the cycle of hate from spreading.

Funny how most of it has nothing to do with a person or an action, but is all due to my perception of the world around me. That's how wars start imho.

Nah. I buy everything--even the company I don't like. I didn't like Sony but 70% of my gaming during the PS1/PS2 days was done on a Sony console. In fact, it's not that I don't like them. I just like their competition more. Seeing a company, even my childhood foe Sega, go out of business is like Ryu seeing Ken decide never to fight again.

I don't want them to fail. I want them to say "Okay. We admit it. Nintendo is the best."

It only happens to me when a company gets too full of themselfs and thinks everything that come out with is amazing, then a while later they suffer in sales. That's the only time I get happy from a failure of a video game company. It's also one reason why I don't like sony so much, it's mostly the fans not the company as much.
