That's just your assumption, you have no evidence whatsoever to support that claim.

You made a very direct statement and I would therefore ask you to back it up.

It's an assumption either way. That's part of the fun when you look into the future. But since you didn't back up your assumption (how could you) I don't see how I am obliged to back up mine.

"If the official price is lowered then that promotional price will be lowered....duh."

That's pretty direct if you ask me ;P

Your assumption goes against the status quo. Mine goes with logic, so therefore the burden is on you to provide evidence to backup what you say.

It would be a logical assumption to state that if the base price of a console is reduced, then any other promotions on top would result in a lower price of the overall package. To say otherwise is lunacy.

10 years for a mobile device sounds like a good idea.

Let me show you one of the hottest phone of 2003:

There once was a great sig here, but it got killed.

A moment of silence would be appreciated.

10 years? I doubt it, 4 years later all smartphones will have much, much more power than Vita(5-6x+ power).

That assertion becomes even more amusing when you consider that Siemens got out of the cell phone business and sold the entire division to Benq two years after that phone was a best seller.

I don't get Sony.  Are they purposely trying to ruin sales for the system? Confirming a price cut next year ruins any chance of a decent holiday for them this year!!! I honestly think they have lost grasp of how to run their game biz. I mean Sony literally just told millions of potential buyers not to buy the Vita this Christmas and wait for the price cut which will happen next year. What the #@$% is that?

So you think it's reasonable that amazon will slash the price by 60€ even after the price cut? Right now you can geht the vita for 185€ if you are interest in LBP Vita. I never said there wont be any promotions at all, but they will certainly not be as steep as they are now.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.

even more amusing when you consider that BenQ Mobile had to close down two years after Siemens sold this business. 4 years after this phone released.

Hey, that IS pretty amusing! I didn't even realize that BenQ's mobile went under.

It just goes to show you, you can't really plan for ten years ahead. That is an absolute eternity in technical circles. Hell, dual core chips only came out seven years ago with the Pentium D and AMD Opterons and you can't even buy single cores anymore now. Things are just moving too fast now for a decade plan.

Ten years? I'm still waiting for the first year of Vita support.

Just makes you wonder what the hell we're going to be using in 2023... :p

But yeah. Handhelds don't have nearly the kind of directing power as consoles in terms of how hardware is utilized, as mobile games don't require as big an investment as console and PC stuff. The controls and software available to the Vita will be far more important to it's survival than the malleable "console in your pocket" promotion they've been doing.

Have some time to kill? Read my shitty games blog. http://www.pixlbit.com/blogs/586/gigantor21
