Don't know if there will be a line in Australia.

The only line that was their for Wii's launch were those who preorded it and went to the midnight launch lol.

I don't think any console here has hit the same status as iphone yet.

Are there enough people in Australia to make a line?

haha there is because like ~98% of the population lives on the east coast near the shoreline haha. If you spread the population across thoe whole of Australia then no there wouldn't be enough people in one area to form a line.

did you do the same thing with ps vita?

No, Vita was released after christmas and as far as I know Sony does not fake supply constraints. WiiU releases just in time for christmas, profits are quaranteed with just that.

"If you can find a PS3 anywhere in North America that's been on shelves for more than five minutes, I'll give you 1200 bucks for it."

Yes, there will be a line.    The demand for the Wii at launch was lower than the current demand for Wii U is.   It was until just after the Wii launced that it became a mainstream magnet.

On topic, I think their's a good chance there's going to be line for this... But maybe not as bad as the Wii, but I could be wrong.

There will be a line purely because people want to buy and re-sell one (or ten or one-hundred...w/e they can get their greedy mitts on so little Timmy has to cry himself to sleep on Christmas morning becaause the vultures made it impossible for his parents to afford one), never mind legit buyers that actually want to own one.

Legit buyer is anyone who can put money on the table. I am banking on the fathers of those little timmy's. :)

@OP: There will be two! One to buy it and one to return it!!!
