As a long-time gamer, I have played many, many games.  I never thought this medium could move me to tears.  Well, Journey proved to me that simplicity is the best way to get a message across.  And in the case of Journey, this message is clear:  beauty, reflexion and in a weird way, friendship. 

I have experienced the most awesome gaming session of my life with a total unknown who, having played the game before, gave me all the time in the world to let me explore.  He guided me when I needed help and encouraged me all the way.  He always waited for me and it was truly a unique experience.  Video game can indeed be a powerful medium for something else than violence.

I urge you to try it out.  Maybe we will find each other on the sandy dunes of this fantastic Journey.  I know I will return many, many times. 

There was a part early in the game where the sun was shining on the sand and my character was sliding down a hill or something--I thought to myself that it was the most beautiful game I'd ever seen. I didn't play much of it and, to be honest, I kinda forgot that the game even existed. Hopefully, I go back and play it one day. When I did play, I was paired up with somebody else and that added to the experience. The longer I wait, the less likely it is for that to happen, again.

You should really give it another chance.  I am still in awe with the experience.  It's not a long game (took me around two hours to finish it), but I did not see the time pass.  Playing with somebody else is really well done.  You can communicate in the most basic way possible and yet, I understood everything.  A deeply satisfying moment.

I've played Journey from start to end at least 10 times, every time a different experience.

The longest play session was about 4 hours with someone who was just as interested as me at the time at exploring every part of each level and setting our own extra goals, for example reaching the top of the temple without raising the water once. We got stuck in the dark caves in an area where you're not supposed to be. We didn't give up until we finally found the way back and managed to sustain each others flight long enough to get back into the actual level area.

It's amazing how much you can communicate with a total stranger simply chirping back and forth, or use it to add to the background music. Doing a speed run, both with the white cape, almost never touching the ground is also an awesome experience.

You can see who you've played with at the end of the game and I've gotten into some conversations about the game that way. Although half the time it was in a language I couldn't even identify. Game of the year for me, I have the hard copy sitting on the shelf :)

I would play it again right now, if I weren't for Tokyo Jungle. Very addictive little gem. It's time to unlock the wolf.

Yea I'll definitely get it when I have the chance, I played it for about 15 minutes at a gaming exhibition and really enjoyed it.

Everyone I know, their face lights up when they find out that other journeyman is another player.

Best game of the gen, in my opinion.

Also, I learned how to make my character faceplant, which is fun to do cuz other players will just starting beeping and jumping around when they don't know what I did.

I absolutely loved this game as well. On my first, and sadly only, playthrough I was so happy when I realized that random clone was another person. It also thrilled me when I realized the menu was still the game playing. The most horrific part was during the climb up the mountain. My guy was so cold and I felt his pain. I got a bit too cocky with evading the flying things and ended up being spotted. Instantly my heart beat exploded and I ran to cover in the nick of time, what a sigh of relief! Until I realized it was charging. Oh no oh no oh no oh no went through my head just like seeing a kid getting hit by a car. That was by far the most expressive singular moment in any game I've felt.

One of the best games i have ever played. Its beautiful and strange. A very unique game very PS owner should play.

I agree that it's one of the best game this year. I would have never guessed that my two favourite games from 2012 would be this and The Walking Dead. Both are amazing.

Im going to buy it. Sony tends to hit the nail on the head taking risks with these strange but beautiful rare titles that most people dont even know about. Flower was a beautiful game everyone should play as well.
