The five most-downloaded PS Plus Instant Game Collection titles, and other PSN data

Forums - Sony Discussion - The five most-downloaded PS Plus Instant Game Collection titles, and other PSN data

It’s difficult to get concrete data out of Sony. The publisher rarely shares specific numbers, so we jumped when Sony public relations reached out to share some insight into the company’s online service PlayStation Network and the subscription-based PlayStation Plus.

Since the publisher started offering the Instant Game Collection, which is a lineup of full-retail games that are available without extra charge to PlayStation Plus members, the five most-downloaded IGC games include: Infamous 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Just Cause 2, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, and Gotham City Imposters. That list is in no particular order.

Sticking with the Instant Game Collection, the titles that comprise that lineup generated over 13 million hours of gameplay and 12 million unlocked trophies.

Gaming’s biggest trade show, the Electronic Entertainment Expo, was a big catalyst for Sony. Since that event, total gameplay hours increased by nearly 200 percent across both disc and digital releases.

In my interview with PlayStation senior director of digital platforms Jack Buser, he mentioned that PlayStation Plus’s customer-satisfaction rate is 97 percent, and 93 percent of current subscribers intend to renew their memberships. Those numbers are even more impressive when considering that PlayStation Plus sales more than doubled during the week of E3.

Next, Sony plans to launch PlayStation Plus on its latest handheld console, the PS Vita. The media conglomerate’s gaming division will roll out the supplemental service for the portable device beginning in November. Sony will have 3-month and 12-month PS Plus subscription cards in retailers across the country, and a single membership will be good for the service on both the PlayStation 3 and the Vita.

Beat me by minutes. Did you see this on Insomniac's news feed too!?

Pretty good decision to have the membership good for PS3 and Vita.

Indubitably lol.

I was surprised to see Gotham City up there! I'm interested in European numbers now (assuming this is NA only)

I have been 100% satisfied with PS+ and will continue to subscribe to it for as long as it exists. I also can't wait to see what they do with it when the PS4 is released (maybe something involving Gaikai).

I wish they would have told us how many Plus subscribers there are world wide...

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

Considering 2 of the games listed not been for PS+ in Europe while several other games not listed have been released in both regions, I will say US only.

PS+ has gone from being something of a joke to an incredible deal. I remember scoffing at it but I kind of want to jump on the bandwagon now. They've really gone the extra mile to make the service stand out. Whomever they put in charge of PS+ should get a bonus.

There are people who still scoff at it.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Why wont they tell the number of subscribers?

Yay!!!
