Before i start this topic i just want to say that my life has change dramtically in the last 3 months and because of this i will only make 2-3 more threads before i request a permban from this site seeing as it is already dying anyway.... (back from my 3 month break)

Now to get started with the topic at hand. It Seems like we're seeing less and less of purely singleplayer games without any co-op, multi-player, MMO-ness or social networking. Iknow that technology is improving and many developers are starting to have the resources to put multiplayer elements and there games. But imo, SOME  games simply do not need this to be succesful or poplular to comsumers. So what do yall think about this issue...

Here are just a few franchises that i can think off the top of my head that have went from singleplayer to multiplayer/singleplayer.....

-Mass Effect

-Dead Space

-God of War 

 -Uncharted

-Bioshock 

-Assassins creed

-Ratchet & Clank

-Resisdent evil

If the singleplayer is still good, which it usually is, then who cares?

Im a single player gamer, i spend 99% of my time playing alone. Statements like Mr. Price of Insomniac saying he cant forsee making any more single player only games make me very sad. Single player does so many things intrinsically better than multiplayer and those are the kind of experiences i like. Not saying I dont enjoy playing multiplayer but not only do i lack people to play with but they are a very different experience. Theres still plenty of games out there that interest me and are single player but if this trend continues, the industry will get in some deep shit .-.

I agree with Jay520. Lots of times it is easy to tell that multiplayer brought down single player but that doesn't have to be the case.

Anyway Beyond two souls won't have multiplayer, yay.

im also a SP only gamer but have moved to MP a bit more this gen, i like the competitive MP only i will never get into coop ect. i like the competitive MP b/c you dont have to worry bout following a story collecting stuff and the other things that accompanies sp gameplay as iam a completionist , i would set back some time when doing campaigns to really soak the game in.  for me its a quick fix to get what i need from a game and the competitiveness and stats just ads more replay, i dont think ill ever move away completely from SP only as some have this gen most buy FPS and dont even touch there campaigns

i think from that list RE has suffered the most there campaigns should have a SP only no AI partner option to get that feel from re4 and previous, it can easily be done with a few tweaks to the campaign, you dont need two players to be present to open a gate all the time lol
