I could use this space to write enormous amounts of information about Guild Wars 2, but instead I will link you to the excellent Gamewise page. Use your VGC login and password to get in there, or sign up with a new account if for whatever reason you can't get in.

Guild Wars 2 has been making waves across the internet for many months before it was released, and I'm sure that even a small community such as ours will have a few players.

Do post if you do play, and include your username (including the number) and your world.

Username: Kantor.5619

World: Fort Aspenwood

World transfers are currently free. This will not be the case forever. If anyone wants to switch around, do it now.

I am not entirely closed off to the idea of changing world, especially since I am currently on an American one at the behest of a couple of people from gamrReview, but I imagine most of you are living in NA as well, and the latency is barely noticable.

It should also be mentioned that a guesting feature whereby you can invite other people to your world to quest and generally frolic around is in the works, but no release date has yet been given for it.

So, use this thread to share your username and world (I'll add them into the OP if enough come in) and generally to discuss Guild Wars 2.

Any and all spoilers must be spoiler tagged. Highlight the spoiler text, mouse over the "Styles" drop-down menu, and select "Spoiler". You will see the text highlighted in black. Failure to do this may result in moderation.

So, be civil, be respectful, and start posting!

I don't play but I do support this topic.

Tell me about World vs. World, Kantor, that stuff sounds cool.

I actually haven't tried it yet (I only got the game on Friday) but I'll give it a shot. Maybe it will convince you.

So, ArenaNet decided that unstructured in-world PvP was a bit of a mess. They didn't like the idea that you are minding your own business and doing some quests, and then someone of the opposing faction comes along and kills you. So all of the PvP is structured. Every race is allied with every other, but they do fight each other for enjoyment.

So from each major city you can take a portal to Lion's Arch, which is the World vs World hub, as such. From there, you join a battleground. There are hundreds of players from each world, and you complete objectives and fight the other team. You can enter or leave at any point.

I don't play much guild wars 2 since it's not going anywhere and it's not sub based, stopped at level 40 cause there are too many good F2P games I'm currently into while waiting for a special friend to start playing so I can transfer my char over, hopefully it's still free next month =X. Oh and Torchlight 2 is destroying my time with other games atm so I'm so sorry GW2 T_T I like you but dang

i'm bugrimmar on... er.... eredon terrace? or whatever it's called.

structured pvp actually sucks in that it has no tangible rewards aside from cosmetic garbage. doesn't fit well with me.

so no worlds to join then i'll join a europe one

edit i guess no one is really playing on here, not posting anyway
