Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 Super Slim: 'Very high interest' from Xbox 360 owners, claims Sony

Well, most X360 owners don't have to buy a HDMI cable unlike other potential customers.

Well this certainly does apply to me. I'm a 360 owner and the idea of a super slim PS3 with 8/16GB flash memory for a cheap price sounded very appealing to me. But of course they had to mess it up.

I probably would have already gotten myself a PS3 if I hadn't bought the Wii back in the day. I think the former would have been a much better deal, but oh well.

You kinow, for as much as you guys visit a sales site, you think you would be familiar with the term market research. Sony didn't just pull this info out of their ass. Of course, the key term here is "interested." Does this mean that interest will translate into sales? No. But God forbid a company release a PR statement that shines a positive light on one of their products.

no but sony's press releases are always a little bit too positive compared to other company's^^

and i don't doubt many 360 owners have interest in a ps3 for a decent price but not that they are especially interested in this new slim model. i would believe most would rather like to buy the actual slim for a nice price.

I wasn't sure how he could say that at first, but then he explained it nicely enough with the PS2/Halo analogy. I am guessing that the "very high interest" does not translate to "a huge numger of people" but "some people with very high interest" though :P.

I have no idea why anyone would have a problem with what he said. It's common sense. At this point in a generation, many of the people looking at a redesign already have a competitor's console. I do not understand why anyone would dispute that. A 250GB model bundled with Uncharted 3 for 269$ isn't bad at all.

What he said almost certainly comes from simple market research. They probably had some surveys where people who indicated they game on a 360 and are looking to buy a second console said they would be interested in a PS3 redesign. Why anyone would want to make a big deal out of something that basic, I do not know.

thats deperate... "seráaa"???

The title of this thread is misleading. The title of the article is misleading. This is what he said:

"he 'Super Slim' PlayStation 3 has attracted "very high interest" from Xbox 360 owners looking to pick up a second console"

People who were already considering buying a PS3 had answered that to at least some degree, they find the new slim slim more appealing. My feelings: Duh?

Playstation All-Stars is one of the best games I've played this gen, and is the most fun I've had in a game this gen.

I'll only believe it if Seece himself buys a PS3 super slim.

Dont get the problem with this statement? As a long time PS3 owner, i only got my 360 this year and thats directly because of the great bundles that MS have made available as well as the more affordable price.

Now sony is catching on and doing the same, by releasing great bundles at round about the same price. OBVIOUSLY these deals are enticing to gamers who only have one console! He is just stating the obvious.

People forget that at the end of the day a gamer is a gamer. And when a 360 only owner watches some awesome uncharted trailer or the last of us trailer, it makes them want to go buy a ps3(provided the price is right ofcourse ^^). Its that simple.

They need... nobody wants to change HDMI cable between consoles and HDTV in the market have 3-4 HDMI inputs... so all consoles plugged together like my home.

OP. The statement is obvious... the late of gen is that what happen for both sides.
