i don't know, i can see that maybe for slower single-player games but i don't really want to move my head as i do in the games with a stick playing games online, constantly moving the head as fast as you can to look in different direction all the freaking time to always know where or where not someone is? don't really want to kill my neck^^

i love the idea of a 360° camera on the head if it isn't heavy (but no clue as long as i never experienced that) but i don't want to move my head.

You wouldn't have to move your head all that much and really it wouldn't be much different then the amount you move your head in normal everyday activities...oh and the 3D viewer weighs 0.9 lbs

What is this 360 degree camera you speak of? What would a camera on the head accomplish?

sry i meant display not camera^^  so yeah, that thing you are talking about or similiar things.

still not sure if i really want to move my head, i really would have to experience it to know it better.

Nope would not want.

At all? Why not, not considering price?

It would be expensive, uncomfortable, unproductive to local multi-player, and a general pain in the ass.

Holodeck or bust.

When nintendo do this.. it will be on the upad tec.. but without buttons and touch.. It will be a "series" like GH, buzz and singstar.. but more cheap than the rockband set.. This will happend..

And a Gamer headphone. whit a (i think) light screen in front issent uncomfortable..

2  players (wii u supports two upad) can play same time.. (or online whit other). and people in the room can watch the play on the tv.. Thats pretty simple.. (and the price will be like 150-180$ for one headset and a presentation game)

Chark@ There are a lots of signs.. and as i said.. wii u is prepared.. can send the picture.. and do you saw the bird demo and street demo.. When you get wii u (if you do) try to hold the upad fixed in front of the head.. and look around.. thats VR..

And it will happend,, but nintendo is playing it safe.. and are not making wii u a "vr consol" but wait a litle, and make it a choise insted.. i'm sure.. but wait and see..

There are signs then for every company. I have played Zombie U and loved it, the 360 asymetrical gameplay is great but in its current capacity it isn't a substitute for a headband. They can make one sure, but so can anyone. I'm pointing out Sony's capability of doing it, whereas is the PS4 is a powerful gaming device it will be more ideal for this use, mainly because of the size of the display in something like the 3D personal viewer in large it will take advantage of more powerful hardware. The Wii U is powerful but graphically at something like a 750' display it might not look that great, or maybe it will I haven't had a chance to wear one to play a game with, and it also might not matter if the experience is good and fun.

Anyway, regardless of what others are doing, the 3D personal viewer with a little more tech and an improved Move would create a great virtual reality experience.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Yes move can do this to.. and i also think sony will do this.. when ps4 comes.. that was also what i wrote in first post.. but wii u will still do it before sony.. :) And an other thing.. Nintendo is holding a lot of VR games patent..

Expensive, probably. It wouldn't be $800 in a couple of years though or when made in larger quanities. It is actually reviewed to be very comfortable so you can't say that. Local multi-player would suffer....but this gen almost killed that already, plus it wouldn't be required hardware or useful for all game types. A general pain in the ass? Sounds more like the most practicle means of accomplishing this effect. Have you seen Microsoft's projector concept? Image imposed upon the walls that you have decorated with what not, less you make a bare room? A halodeck concept would require you to have a complete room dedicated to it, so expensive beyond any means.

A piece of headgear is small and provides a very large screen of view, one that encompasses the your entire range of sight. So compared to projection methods it would have angular difficulties when on walls and corners, which will create a level of uncanny.

How relevant can those patents be now? The 3D viewer already exists and only thing it needs is motion tracking, even just by gyros which is already used in Sony devices. These patents shouldn't effect Sony from implementing this at all. Why are you so sure that Nintendo would release this first? What if launches with PS4 or something. Why do you keep bringing up who does what first?

Well if that's you're point that I'm going to say the PS3 can do it or the 360 or Wii or the gamecube or the dreamcast or the PS2 or the Xbox or the PS or the N64 or a computer.

I don't want to wear extra glasses for a 3D movie, why would I want a whole headset?

Sorry, I just don't see it as a mass consumer device. A niche device at best.

A holodeck or bust. That is clearly where full interaction needs to be. Wearing a headset where I have to stand up or turn all around but can't really move or interact with stuff is just blah.

I can't think of a way I'd like to game less. Sounds awkward and uncomfortable which is totally not how i wanna be when gaming.

Howeverrr, the tech is really cool, just it couldn't be the focus of the console and it's a long way off being mainstream enough to warrant any real software being made for it. I think it's far more likely we see these sort of things 'spring up' in some sort of Quasar / Bowling type place. I.e. somewhere you go with your mates to play a 'virtual' game wearing the things and with motion sensor type guns. That negates the fact that people don't have space for all this **** in their living room, over comes high costs as you'd just be paying just for the service and just makes a ton more sense in general lol.

Well yes if you want its "full" effect, but in no way would you be required to stand up, or turn around even. You could use analog sticks for that while utilizing head movements as an additional form of camera adjustment all while on your couch.

If you happen to be near a Sony store that has a display model, check it out. It's too long of a drive for me to give it a go but maybe you are in a lucky position. It might dissolve your concerns or solidify them.
