Obama is doomed and the poll above merely points out the level of self-delusion of the people voting on it.

Listen to me:

No president has ever won re-election with:

*Mass unemployment (more like 16% than the farcical, politicized, over-8%).
*Net worth of the middle class down 40% (!!!) in 5-years.
*Pushing through grossly unpopular legislation (Ocare) against the vast majority of peoples' wishes.
*Gas prices surging to all-time highs just in time for election day.
*Voter registration is now lopsidedly R because of Obama.
*Etc.

By all means continue to live in a dreamworld where Obama can win, but it's just that--a dreamworld populated by unicorns and sentient, anthropomorphic, kittens that re-elect the guy who, against all reason, has performed terribly on the job. (Take off your political blinders and ask yourself this: would a single one of you *re-hire* an employee that failed to do what is believed to be his most important duty, i.e. geting the economy back on its feet? If so, you should never, ever, run a business. Ever.)

(I"m sure that most of you saying this is going to be Kerry II also thought the Ds weren't going to be epically crushed in 2010, but let's not let reality get in the way!)

The issue here is who do the American people blame for the current situation? Obama's approval ratings are decent, while the Tea Party Congress is in the toilet. While there is a lot of discontent roiling around, we need to know who that is going to get directed against.

For shits and giggles: current congressional approval ratings are lower than: approval for the IRS, Nixon during watergate, wanting an American Communist Revolution, the airline industry, Paris Hilton in 2005 (at the height of her controversy), lawyers, Big Oil, Big Finance, BP during the oil spill, and Fidel fucking Castro.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Calling it a Tea Party Congress is just silly. It's a split Congress. And comparing individual politicians' approval ratings to the approval rating of a group of politicians really is not very useful.

I think at this point it seems that even Romney has given up. The recent support of parts of Romneycare/Obamacare and his harsh criticism of a congress budget - one put forth by his VP pic. Failing to release his taxes allows all sorts of speculation to where he took advantage the IRS amnesty for fraud and/or is better off, than he was 4 years ago.

As far as Kerry. He got blindsided by a Texas Billionaire who somehow got people that just a few years before claimed Kerry had saved their life in a battle - to somehow saying that it was all made up. It was quite bizarre and creepy. Plus, Americans don't like to change leadership during a time of war. Plus there was a bunch of shenanigans, especially in Ohio with voting.

This one reminds me more of Regan vs Mondale. Where a popular president is being challenged by someone who can't muster much support. I don't remember what was specifically wrong with Mondale, but it seemed like he never had much of a chance. And much like Romney was outshine by a old man talking to a chair on what should have been his night; Mondale was out-shined by his VP pic, Ferraro.

The Republican party has completely lost it's way. From a party that believe a strong central government was needed to ensure human dignity for all, to one that thinks only Billionaires and Corporations deserve welfare and one that wants to take rights from certain people who were born different. I think Lincoln would be quite angry.

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Oh my! That is funny! (and a bit sad)  But to quote someone, "they built that!"

That sounds like a good comparison to me.

The main difference, of course, is their career background. Romney is a businessman; Kerry was a career politician (and a military serviceman before that). This is Romney's greatest advantage, and he's letting the Democrats turn it against him. If he would just come fully clean, release his tax returns, and state that he will not apologise for his wealth or success, he might actually have a shot at winning this election.

Not that I especially want him to win this election, what with that mess of a political party behind him at the moment. I don't much like Obama either, but dear god, at least the man can go to another country without insulting it, and at least his party is just irritatingly spendthrift and preachy rather than full-out insane.

I'd beg to differ.

Okay, there are insane elements. You do have Michael Bloomberg who thinks he needs to be the guardian angel nanny protecting people from the evils of sugary drinks. You do have Joe Biden who is Joe Biden. You have Harry Reid, who invents enormous conspiracies about Mitt Romney with no evidence.

But just look at the Republican Party. Perry, Santorum, Bachmann, Palin, Gingrich... these are all renowned and respected members of the party. Mitt Romney was the most sensible and sane of the mainstream candidates, and he now feels the need to say crap like this because he needs to appeal to the sort of people who support the jingoistic neocons and faux libertarians. They bring the rest of the party down.

I guess I just don't see how those people are more insane than Pelosi, Biden, Wasserman-Schultz, and other Democratic luminaries.

Bloomberg has been in every political party under the sun and is an independent now.

I hope that Romney comes away without any further presidential ambitions.
The Republican arguments have more holes then Swiss Cheese.
Not to say that the Democrats are much better- both parties lie- but the democrats have consistantly been more truthful according to fact checker.

As the founding constitution states-
Keep religion seperate from politics!

Only if you use one of the Democratic Fact Checkers.  Funny thing about Fact Checkers.  Ever since they became popular they suddenly became highly politcized right around the time Factcheck.org got rid of their more conservative fact checkers.

Right now Fact Checkers are just political extensions no different from the campaigns, super pacs, or news stations like MSNBC and Fox News.

Well, they're somewhat different than Super PACs in that they have to call bullshit on both sides so as to maintain some degree of credibility. They just tend to slant very heavily one way, so they're more like Fox News. I'm not sure MSNBC even pretends to be anything other than a Democratic Pravda at this point.
