Hello, Monster fans! I would like to ask all of you a question. Is having Monster Hunter online makes the entire package worth or not? The reason I say this is because Monster Hunter 3U is coming soon and I can't decide which version to buy. I want the 3DS version because I feel the game is most suited for the platform, however the 3DS version doesn't have online.

I rent Monster Hunter Tri once and only played online once or twice. It was fun, but I didn't have enough time with the game to experince the full effect. So, what version should I get? Wii U or 3DS? Also, how do you feel about online in Monster Hunter? Is it necessary or not? Does it make or break the purchase?

You absolutely MUST get the Wii U version then. If you haven't played MHtri on Wii online you really missed out.

The 3DS has local multiplayer but it isn't the same.

Get the Wii U version, thank me later.

Online makes or breaks the monster hunter game for me. With the online the game is incredible, without it just meh.
The lack of online in the 3ds version makes it a big disappointment. I hope they don't pull this with MH4

Online has event questsand obvious multiplayer with different people. yet i dont think you will lose any content at all since eventquest are able to be downloaded to the 3ds.
Having online is always nice for home, but MH is also a series that is pretty enjoyable outside of it and even more in local mp. i would say the wii U version, both for fully enjoy it maybe you want to get also the 3ds version, even more if you have friends to play with it locally.

I personally highly value online and will be getting the WiiU version of MH3G for that reason. My opinion isn't shared by many Japanese consumers though
