Forums - Gaming Discussion - So where does Bayonnetta 2 exclusivity to the Wii U Rank all time in Gaming media surprises?

I think this is a great example against the argument that Ninty did not moneyhat Capcom for MH exclusivity. They did the same with Rayman and now with Bayonnetta. I personally don't care, as I never played the game and have nothing against Ninty for doing that. It's just business. There are tons of other incredible games that I'm interested in, so no big deal (even though Rayman Origins was the best platform game I've played in my life).

It was very surprising, but nowhere near as much as the sheer extent of meltdowns across the internet. This is probably the biggest meltdown since E3 2008; after hearing about it I expected several annoyed fanboys, but nothing like the scenes we've seen on the likes of Gaf and SRK.

A quick question, what is srk?

stands for Shoryuken:

this is the thread I mentioned: http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/bayonetta-2-is-wiiu-exclusive-nooooooooooooooo.168899/

the above as well as the neogaf thread have some absolute classics

Final Fantasy VII Remake -- For Wii U + 3DS exclusive.

That would be the funniest meltdowns ever. Do it Square-Enix. I can taste the bitter tears from here.

I have absolutely no interest in such a game, but I want it just for the meltdowns, haha.

I think Microsoft should do it instead. Then we have both Sony and Nintendo fanboys meltdown.

Haha, yeah, that'd be even better as MS almost certainly has the smallest share of JRPG fans.

I'm not an MS fan, but I'd love to see that happen just to see the increase of 360 sales in Japan. The MH 360 game did quite well and helped 360 have a huge spike. If a FF Remake were to do close to nth for the 360 in Japan, I thiNK MS should stop bothering with Japan altogether.

Above Gabe Newell, but well below FFXIII.

That thread wrinkles my brain because of its sheer ridiculousness.

Rumor is that Bayonetta 2 has been canceled by SEGA, than Nintendo took this game.

I guess I didn't phrase it right. What I meant was that Ninty is investing money in studios, so that they can get exclusives. Same thing MS did and in my opinion worked in their favour with the success of 360. I say good for them. Thanks to Ninty a game which was cancelled will now be made. I don't get why people are upset. Now if Gears of War or Halo moved to WiiU, I'd get it, since they're very successful. Bayonnetta was not

It's a rare surprise announcement in an era of leaks, which probably helps the reaction it's getting as it's been so long since we've had any kind of surprise of note.
