Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Has a Microsoft's take on Wii U gamepad been spotted at Valve?

well its good when others do it but a gimmick when Nintendo does it of course

but at least they didn't say its a gimmick and then went ahead and copied it

It is a gimmick until a rival has their own answer for it.  At that point, the rival's solution is seen as a superior upgrade, and the feature Nintendo did suddenly becomes a necessity, by the fans of the rival.

I think this is good for the industry if its true.
More asymmetric gameplay coming from Microsoft perhaps?

There's a VIC20 beside the guitar... wow. :)

Based on the color, I think that's a C64.

VIC20's were much whiter, where as the C64 was "Fawn Grey".  The primary color for ever computer manufactured in the 1980's.

Also in that picture was a a RadioShack robot arm.  I can't recall the name of it specifically, but typically seen during the holiday season in most RadioShacks back in the day.

Well, the screen looks a lot smaller and more awkward than the Wii U tablet's screen.

Will be interesting to hear further details if this turns out to be true.

That doesn't look like a Microsoft product.

Honestly, I think Microsoft is going for something more heads-up. Like maybe the Project Fortaleza glasses.

do you mean google glasses ?

With the basic shape and styling I can see how someone would think it looks like a Microsoft controller, but (with Valve's recent posting for hardware designers to innovate in the UI space) it could also be something Valve created.

Sigh it only took one post to get people to start flame baiting.

Its still a gimmick when a rival does it. Doesnt mean it cant be seen as a superior upgrade cause 9/10 times it IS. Why wouldnt it be, it is coming after the fact, necessity?? HA hell no

I think it's Valve's thing, not Microsoft. If you looked at the Steam TV stuff you will notice that they use a similar button coloring scheme, if not identical, as the Xbox.

EDIT: Possible proof

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
