Man, after 10 years of not playing Tekken Tag, I suck at Tekken.

I can't even beat the Unknown on the easiest setting in arcade. XD

I had to go all-out cheap to take her down in medium. I spammed a long range kick with miguel and half way thru i switched to Steve and wait for her to finish him off with her cheapo 5 finger bitch slap, then I finished her off with miguel any way possible. Took me 5 tries.

I just comboed her to death on my first try....I need to put this game on a harder setting.

Who did you play as?

Was it really such a big deal to ban me because you were too lazy to look up simple facts? Not to mention ban me as I'm getting resources. Pretty immature.
An intelligent person throws out ban information for good, yet, it seems to be that, on this site, people treat consoles like nations, and they, those certain people, I mean, are over patriotic...

With that said, yes, sure, I was wrong about the 360's frame rate. All it took was me re-checking information to figure that out. Not a god damn ban for christ sake. However, everything else I said is still true...

1. Tekken 6, the arcade version, runs on PS3 hardware: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Namco_System_357
It even uses the XMB, I've seen it in a youtube vid years ago, and clearly states on wikipedia that it uses the XMB

If you read the site you'll see that Tekken 6 uses the 357 board, and the 369 board is basically an updated version of it. You cannot turn the motion blur off in the arcade version, it only exist on consoles because it effects the rendering. Again, the arcade version is stronger than home consoles, so it can handle it.

2. Soul Calibur IV, V and Tekken 6 don't run on the same engine.
Hold on. Look at what I've said. Arcade board is HARDWARE. Engine is SOFTWARE.

Therefore, Soul Calibur and Tekken already have some differences, because Soul Calibur is not ported from an arcade, as Soul Calibur's last arcade game was Soul Calibur III.

When you start Tekken 6... You don't see the Havok physics engine credited anywhere. Not on the game's box, or start up screens. Tekken Tag 2 shows it, and so does Soul Calibur IV, and maybe V too.

It was even stated several times by Harada that Tekken 6 could not handle 4 characters on the screen at a time, and that for TTT2, the engine had to be changed.

But, whatever. I'll tell you what. This banning for no damned reason is out of hand. As if I didn't own a 360 and PS3. Then, after the ban, users start flaming me, knowing I can't post, yet, get no infractions. Unbelievable. People are too up-tight here, and easily offended.

That's all I have to say on this. I'm not making the official TTT2 thread anymore, detailing all the characters, replays, etc. Someone else can do it, or visit a Tekken-related site. Too much effort for over 60 characters anyway.

Now... for the subject at hand...

TTT2 has things TTT1 didn't have, and is played completely differently because of it. You have walls, bound, and a ton more characters, attacks, and tag specific combos. You have to learn Unknown's move-set, either by using Jun in training mode, or learn by what you see.

Press 3, or Down-Forward with timing of any low attack. You can go into training mode- or replay. Any attack that hits with the low icon, can be parried. You have to parry if you ever want to be good in Tekken. Any good player is going to give you a high-low guessing game, and if you can't parry low attacks, you're going to get stomped every time

You also have to learn every character's strings, at least by sight so you know what to expect. I don't know them all, but, if you do a string that I know contains a low, you're getting parried.

But, being defensive doesn't stop there. You need to also know how to use your character's parry attacks, which is 4+LP+LK, if the character has it. For example, my 3 main characters, Feng, Lili, and Leo all have punch parries. If you do a string that I know has a mid punch, you're not going to be safe on my block.

Lastly. You don't need combos. Don't go off on youtube trying to do the highest damaging combos.

1. You'll constantly try them, and become insanely predictable.
2. It's more effective to go for powerful single strikes, and save the combos for when your opponent wiffs, or makes a mistake. Don't go for a combo out of no where, it's not going to work.

With rage mode activated, you should be able to take out someone's character with 3-5 clean hits anyway. No damage scale. In other words, don't use a combo.

Then, learn to properly back and forward dash. Which are close to impossible to do on a directional pad and requires an arcade stick... Which is why I saved this tip for last.

One thing about fighters is that you're going to have to lose a whole lot before you get any good. But, no matter how much you play any Tekken game released before Tekken 6, it will not prepare you for TTT2.

If I get it it'll be in the Wii U.

Nintendo costumes for teh win! :D

I beat it with Marshall Law first. I am going to use Feng next, but I have finals right now.

Hilarious post, full of irony. well done :)

Pick Feng Wei.  Haudouken motion and any left limb = win.  the kick, will launch directly into the air on counter hit, allowing you to do it again.  Doing it twice in rage mode will deal close to 50% health on a pair...  Even less when it's just one character you're facing.

Then, there's the two kicks which leads into a face-planting bound.

It's amazing how many inputs you forget until you're actually playing the game again.

If you want to mash buttons, depending on how good your friend is, Jun Kazama would be a good start, but, mashing doesn't work on someone that knows how to play.  I was playing online, and got a perfect on someone on my first time ever using Jun...  Granted, I do use Asuka from time to time in Tekken 6, so it wasn't entirely mashing.

I hate mashers, but it was smart to use Jun as shes uses Kazama style like her relative Asuka.
