I never understood why Demi Lovato got on it, my best guess is to get young teenagers who saw her on Disney to watch the show. To me she just isn't at the right stage of her career to be being a mentor other singers, she also doesn't command the respect that other mentor on similar shows do, which is highlighted by this video. Also feel Britney Spears would suffer from similar problems, although probably to a lesser degree.

Britney's issue is that she can't sing. So doesn't have the necessary moral high ground to call contestants out.

I think she does, really.  Being in a business that long highlights her success.

It only highlights that one doesn't need talent to succeed. Shows like American Idol, X-Factor, and The Voice pretend that isn't the case. It's the judges job on these shows to ensure that people like Britney, don't make it the finals.

Wow Simon was like this guy knows what he's talking about!

I feel sorry for Spears, but at the same time i also hate her for being a waste of time, money and resources

Yeah, unlike Simon or L.A. Reid. Being able to sing has nothing to do with being a good judge. Christina Aguilera has an amazing voice, but is a terrible judge on the voice. She mostly talks about herself instead of the contestants.

Britney is the only judge who has the X-factor. She's someone with a decent voice and good dancing that has something special and can dominate music charts for more than a decade.

Guy should try stand-up comedy. If he really came up with that on the spot...

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I agree, she has something special. I'll always have a soft spot for her
