Will the PS3 surpass the Xbox 360 in HW this holiday?

Anyone think the PS3 will surpass the 360 in HW this holiday?   I don't really know of any major titles coming out for either system during the holiday.  It's not like it really matters at this point of the gen, I was just wondering everyone's opinion.  Personally, I think the gap will fall within 1 million maybe 500k but PS3 will not surpass.

When the ps3 was miles away, it mattered greatly, now it's close and ready to over take, it doesn't matter anymore. I call shenanigans but hey, whatever.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

It'll take 2 years for the PS3 to surpass the 360. If not more. Better question should be "Will it eventually catch up to the Wii?"

I don't think so. 360 sales will likely ramp up a lot. MS loves to make big pushes at the end of the year. If SONY could counter with some decent marketing (LMFAO... *sniff*, *wipes tear*... sorry) or even a revision+price cut and counter MS' sales gain, then perhaps sometime next year with the systems apparently consistent healthy sales they can over take the 360.

If Sony announces a Slim in the realm of $199.99 or even $149.99

Yeah I definitely could see that happening. It's going to happen no matter what though. Only a matter of time.

That's because everyone expected the PS3 to continue Sony's dominance in the console market, not relegate it to a distant third place for the majority of this generation.  Now that this gen is coming to a close and the next one will be fully in gear by end of '13 / early '14, Sony barely topping the 360 after giving away so much market share from just 5 years ago and with the 360 being severely handicapped in one of the three biggest gaming markets, Japan, is just a minor consolation prize in the grand scheme of things.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

not with the current gap at what 2M?

360 gots halo and BO2 push dont know what PS3 has, RE6 but thats multi and 360 will probably be the preferred platform for that

i believe ps3 was available for 200 for a few weeks for both 10 and 11 during the holidays and wasnt able to to have WW week victorys against the 360 those yrs

next yr better chance with tlou gow and tlg? but i have a feeling it wont do it before MS announces there next console

in conclusion as of know i believe. . . MS had issues with HW failure but was able to resolve the issue with extended warranty and a better console revision. sony will never be able to get out of 3rd b/c they havent resolved there issues. getting multi plats to run as good/exclusive content, losing 3rd party exclusives, matching online services, restoring ps2 B/C or adding/matching features or improvements to the console, and being recognized as a gaming machine as they once were or as the 360 was this gen

when they launch the PS3 slim, they'll quickly overtake the XBOX 360's install base WW..

that's if they really have a $199 or lower model..
