Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Wii U Getting PC Title Death’s Apprentice In 2015!!! PS3 and 360 version come next year though.......

This is either a mystake or just a placeholder cause launching the game on wii u two years after other consoles is pointless and terrible business, might as well not launch it.

LMAO if true they can keep that shit.

The game looks terrible and very simplistic. Not sure why this tiny game is news (or is this game bigger than I realize? I mean hell.. the youtube video only had a few hundred views...).

Bad news for all the 4 people who care about that game.

I really hope it's a joke because... Well, I think that screenshot speaks for itself. LOL.

It's definitely made with RPGMaker. In fact, it's using the default sprites, animations, etc. from the RPGMaker 2003 tileset.

I found this from a quick Google search: http://www.trueachievements.com/n10517/deaths-apprentice-makes-the-jump-from-pc-to-360.htm

I suppose I can't judge it since I haven't played it, but RPGMaker can only do so much, and these screenshots are telling me that it's just another plain RPGMaker game that you could find on Google in a few seconds. The only difference is that this is potentially worse than what you'd find on Google because it looks like it's using the default tileset, etc. I see no new sprites and the animations will most likely be the same. Bleh.

EDIT: Oh, look what I found: http://einfogames.com/news/deaths-apprentice-headed-to-consoles/

"Each character in the game will have their own unique abilities. When battles in the game are over, death's apprentice can absorb the enemies' souls. This will allow the group of adventurers to gain enough souls to level up and gain new strengths and abilities."

Sounds to be like absorbing enemies' souls is basically leveling up. I wouldn't be surprised if they just went into RPGMaker 2003 and changed the word "exp" to "souls" so that at the end of the battle, it'd say something like "200 souls gained!"

"Death’s Apprentice will feature handcrafted animation and beautiful 2D art included in the game."

By handcrafted animation, they mean the drag-and-drop animation creation process in RPGMaker 2003 that a child could probably do on his own free time. By beautiful 2D art, they mean the default tileset.

"The console version of Death's Apprentice will be available to pre-order soon with a standard edition costing $59.99 and the Limited Collector’s Edition costing $79.99."

If this is true, I feel sorry for anyone who buys it. A 13-year old could make a game like this on RPGMaker 2003. It's an EXTREMELY simple program provided that one doesn't dabble with scripts, and this game looks like it's not touching any scripts at all. Heck, if anyone's bored, they'd probably have a lot more fun making a game on RPGMaker 2003 or newer on their own. It'd probably be better than this pile of trash (which was probably "developed" with NO BUDGET aside from the possible fee of like $20 to get the license to use RPGMaker).

Really, just look at the video on here: http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/59408/assume-role-death-deaths-apprentice

Please let this be a joke. Selling this game is almost like stealing.

If you want to see a real example of a decent RPG made in RPGMaker, look for A Blurred Line on Google. It was made in RPGMaker 2000, it's free, it's fairly well-made for an RPG made on a simple program like RPGMaker, and it actually does make use of quite a few original compositions and sprites (although they are ugly, as expected from a game on RPGMaker).
