Forums - General Discussion - Thinking about back packing across Canada, any advice?

Anyone with experience in this?

Great places to sleep?

Places to much on food/free food?

Should I bring a gun?

Any tips?

drive.

I would not recommend back packing across the entire country. You'll have to pass through Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta which will be nothing but about 1500 consecutive miles of flat ground. Pick a couple destinations that you'll really enjoy spending time in. Maybe hit Algonquin Park for backpacking and kayaking for 2 weeks, then take a train to BC for some mountain climbing. You really won't find shit to do in the middle of the country.
