It is sad how much hate the Vita gets.

Truly a sad industry.

This not hate, it is realism. If you see how many Vitas where sold and the declining interest in this product. I give it 2 more years until it wont be stocked in the most retail stores.

Every platform has it's pros and cons. With the Vita that is no different. However, the Vita is the only system that provides gamers with every possible input method that the PSP was criticized for not having.

Add to that games that are top notch. Uncharted: Golden Abyss can be regarded as one of the best games on the system still and it was a launch title.

Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational is fantastic and perfect for bite-sized gaming, but also be long term marathons.

Mortal Kombat on the Vita is the best fighting game I've played since Tekken 5.

and the list goes one. Yes there are terrible games on it that never should have seen the light of day (Little Deviants, Supremacy MMA, Ridge Racer, Dungeon Hunter Alliance just to name a few), but for every bad game, I would say there are 2 good to great games.

A year ago the price was perfect. The only difference now from then is the 3DS had to have a short-sighted $80 price cut. In my opinion the 3DS justed needed software (which it got in the short term as well). The hardware is there, the software is there (and strenghtening), but there appears to be a stigma around a portable PlayStation because supposedly Sony didn't do the PSP right.

The Vita is an amazing machine that plays games that competing hardware can't. Just like the competing hardware to the Vita has games/features that the Vita can't do (especially 3D).

So yes, I see it as hate and it makes me sad. If $250 is too much, then I don't know what to tell the people who won't pay that for any device that is worthy of it.

The Vita is a great Platform but it has no success, nobody is buying and those are not really buying many games. It is too carry with you all the time and to expensive to buy it only for long journeys. And as homesconsole it is missed because there are better options like PC or PS3. I totally agree with you the PS vita is the best handheld ever, but it is not going to las very long. This no hate just realism.

Its not that Vita is dead, its more Sony letting it die. Software and a price cut are urgent for this thing to stay afloat. Its going to need more than one game to do some damage. Hell even the xbox had some decent sellers in japan and look where that is right now.

Games are fun.

It just needs some big games and we all know it's coming. I swear the vita is pretty much a repeat of the PS3 (people complaining no games on it) but really relax we all know Sony will deliver and bring us some of the best games out there for the Vita, just be patient.

I don't think this is a software issue. The PS3 struggled initially because it was 600 freaking dollars.

This is a "the market has been impacted big time by smartphones/tablets" issue.

The PSP and Vita launched at the same price ($249.99) but the PSP was in a completely different ball park with its launch.

Even Nintendo ... outside of Japan, 3DS sales are OK, but not neccessarily what the DS used to do month in-month out 2-3 years ago.

PS Vita does have tons of potential. What worries me is the fact most devs and publishers are waiting for the handheld to sell more. Having a game on early lifetime can do wonders for your IP, but they seem to be waiting for Sony to do tons of hard work while they are losing an opportunity to better position themselves on the market.

But for a good year or two another huge complaint was the lack of games. MGS4 was the first big game and it released over a year and a half after the release of the PS3.
