I'm not going to downplay the performance of the game since I think it did really well but in general, a game having a FW of 160k and bumping it's platform up to 50k isn't anywhere close to an extraordinary achievement. You'll need many games performing like that to shake things up in any significant way.

The Vita not being dead is certainly true though.

FFX HD= Vita will be saved trust me, it needs to release in the next 6 months.

Yeah I reckon it'll do great numbers, especially in Japan, and should boost the Vita up pretty high, I know I'll be buying both the PS3 AND Vita versions since it's my favourite game of all time and I'd LOVE to play it on the go.

I would love Crossbuy. Double platinum!

Yeah, if it has cross buy that's even better, and a double platinum would be VERY nice, I haven't had a platinum for a while now... and this is one game where I'll DEFINITELY get it no matter what the trophy list looks like, even if it means getting all the Al Bhed Primers!

Hahaha man Seymor and his aeon I think? Were so difficult:/

Better battery life, brighter screen and internal storage.

Yes on the battery life, that would be great. The screen is very bright. Not in my experience, I can't play outside unless it's night, not even in the shade. I tried playing on the train and the light coming in from the window made it unplayable, and it wasn't direct sunlight. Internal storage is not neccessarily better than external. It doesn't mean it will be cheaper, it could even kill the battery life. The external storage method allows the consumer to more easily choose what size storage they want and gives them the option of multiple cards. Internal storage limits them to a few choices and a more permanent choice. The option for external storage doesn't need to go, you can still have an sd card slot. All it would do is raise the entry price of the hardware and limit upgrade capabilities. With that said the memory is too expensive.

I would take third party memory cards over internal storage though, easily. One thing I forgot was better cameras. The current VGA ones suck terribly. I'm not saying these should come with a price drop, it's like... think PSP 2000 to PSP 3000. Just ironing out the minor flaws.

Are you playing it on low brightness? Hold down the PS button and make sure to adjust it up when you are outside. I don't have that much of a problem. Have you ever tried other screens outside before? Vita is a God send when it comes to that.

If extrenal storage stays then good. A little bit of internal storage to cover save data and profile settings would be ideal, as long as it doesn't use up much battery. Batter cameras is a must, it would enhance AR games by a ton. I can't believe they threw in $1 cameras.

I agree that the new iterations of the Vita will simply be upgrades rather than remodels, just like PSP. People won't be missing out on much especially externally. Their design is pretty solid, it is the 4th device in this style after all.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

The same happened with Persona 4 the golden, things will return to normal in 2 weeks. There's no GAME ALONE that can ''save'' the vita A-N-Y game, still is not impossible it just needs time and the right decisions. I think that the vita will not be a business failure in a long term now, will it prove me wrong as soon as next year? i doubt it, still...

Never understimate the power of Monster Hunter and Dragon Quest...

I understand what you mean, but well... Don't overestimate the power of Monster Hunter or Dragon Quest. Vita has sold (and i think im being generous) 3 million units in 9 months, those ARE bad numbers however people who say such things like ''it's dead'' started in videogames yesterday, what i mean is that it needs more than 1 ''killer app'' (i hate that term).

You almost got me there. I thought you where serious about it.

Have you ever tried other screens outside before? Vita is a God send when it comes to that. Brightness is all the way up! Man... maybe there's something wrong with mine? It seems really dim outside, like barely visible.

I think even Final Fantasy Type-0 HD for the Vita would be a massive system seller. Especially here in the west.

THIS..I hope S-E/Sony unveil this at TGS

160k sold in the first few days!

50k VITAs sold!

This proves that there is MASSIVE potential with the VITA! It certainly is not dead, it just need the right games and a good price.

TGS should bring us many more Vita games, possibly a new Monster Hunter and FFX HD releasedate at the end of the year or early next year. Itwill do wonders for VITA.

Next year is where VITA will truly shine though, it will get its first pricecut, 2nd year games and ofcourse, a revision of the Vita hardware.

@bolded: no shit, sherlock.

To the rest: maybe, and it would help the Vita, if it happens as you describe. But I doubt somehow, that it will happen this fast and to a big extent. I think the Vita can recover a bit, 30-50 million lifetime are possible.

All the Otakus buy their waifus day 1 so I think the drop next week for Miku will be pretty substantial, around 80%.

And the 3DS installment of Hatsune Miku "bombed" (around 160k right now) because it's hard to fap to chibi Miku.

It's still a nice temporary boost for the Vita, so good for Sony. Btw. I find it hilarious that Sony killed Sega and now Sega is saving the Vita for now.

Ongoing bet with think-man: He wins if MH4 releases in any shape or form on PSV in 2013, I win if it doesn't.
