Better battery life, brighter screen and internal storage.

Yes on the battery life, that would be great. The screen is very bright. Not in my experience, I can't play outside unless it's night, not even in the shade. I tried playing on the train and the light coming in from the window made it unplayable, and it wasn't direct sunlight. Internal storage is not neccessarily better than external. It doesn't mean it will be cheaper, it could even kill the battery life. The external storage method allows the consumer to more easily choose what size storage they want and gives them the option of multiple cards. Internal storage limits them to a few choices and a more permanent choice. The option for external storage doesn't need to go, you can still have an sd card slot. All it would do is raise the entry price of the hardware and limit upgrade capabilities. With that said the memory is too expensive.

I would take third party memory cards over internal storage though, easily. One thing I forgot was better cameras. The current VGA ones suck terribly. I'm not saying these should come with a price drop, it's like... think PSP 2000 to PSP 3000. Just ironing out the minor flaws.

Are you playing it on low brightness? Hold down the PS button and make sure to adjust it up when you are outside. I don't have that much of a problem. Have you ever tried other screens outside before? Vita is a God send when it comes to that.
If extrenal storage stays then good. A little bit of internal storage to cover save data and profile settings would be ideal, as long as it doesn't use up much battery. Batter cameras is a must, it would enhance AR games by a ton. I can't believe they threw in $1 cameras.
I agree that the new iterations of the Vita will simply be upgrades rather than remodels, just like PSP. People won't be missing out on much especially externally. Their design is pretty solid, it is the 4th device in this style after all.
