Forums - General Discussion - What Fictional World would you choose to live in, and why?

Final Fantasy or Angel Beats

I would choose Resident Evil. I would work hard to rebuild Umbrella and try to fill the void left by Albert Wesker.
I would not want to live in the Zelda universe though. At first it was my top pick but then I realised I would have to stand in the same place every day saying the same thing. Not a world I would want to live in.

I wanted to say star trek, but then i realized apart from being on one of the important ships, the rest of the worlds seem incredibly bland and dull.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

Since I doubt i'd be able to collect the Dragon balls, since while a few humans do have powers 99.9% are powerless jerks even if they do learn martial arts...

I'd go with Pokemon.

From what I can tell, just so long as your willing to have a few pets and have them battle at things, people are willing to give you anything you want for free.

I'd be a pokemon trainer, chill with some pokemon and just live it up as people gave me free crap for basically having pets... but pets that spend most of their time out of sight.

I thought you hated socialism.... :P

Not at all.  I just recognize that much like trying to collect magical balls to make wishes it's mostly unviable in the real world. (Though actually, I am pro a fairly generous negative income tax based welfare program.  The programs we have now are way to wasteful, complex and ultimatly shut ut those who aren't trained to seek for them, instead of improving themselves.)

In a fantasy world like Pokemon?  Sure sign me up.  Seems to have no downsides there.

I mean hell, somehow they still have hamburgers and other meat based food products, despite it not apparently being made of pokemon yet no other animals existing.

I mean, I'd be against someone getting "Chakra basde medicine by someone placing their hand over your chest" over you know... real medicine here... but in the Naruto world?  Awesome.  Chakra me up.

Have you ever seen Soylent Green?

The 100 ace wood. Why? Because it's basically utopian and peaceful.

Actually No.  Even though it's been on my "I should watch this" movie list for like 17 years already.

Knowing the japanese though i'd expect it to be some kind of soy/kelp based thing rather then people.

...that was exactly what Soylent Green was officially sold as

Dead or Alive Xtreme. Do I have to explain why?

The Walking Dead, because "In a world ruled by the dead, we are forced to finally begin living."

Assuming that I'll stay just like I am (no special powers or anything), I would choose any of the following:

- Pokemon
Not a fan of the series, but I would be able to keep pets that can do useful stuff with minimal upkeep.

- Star Trek
All races and religions united in one big utopian world while humanity explores the universe in cool spaceships. Sounds good to me.

Most of the other choices will likely get me killed in some way sooner or later (e.g. Resident Evil, Dragonball Z). The rest either contains stuff I am unlikly to experience since I'm not the main protagonist, resulting in the same old boring world (e.g. Death Note, Dr. Who) or would be just plain weird to live in (e.g. Sonic, MLP).
