More relevant than Uncharted 3 but not 2

Mario Kart is more relevant than any Sony franchise despite Gran Turismo.

At least here in Europe, Gran Turismo is a big deal. Best selling racing IP.

Does GT sell more than Mario Kart? All let us not forget the shelf life and the system this is own. I want even attempt to bring Mario Kart Wii into this discussion. I don't have a 3DS and thus do not have Mario Kart 7 yet.

This thread has perked up my interest. I'm still going ot wait though. I don't plan on gettin g a 3DS until either SMT4 or Soul Hackers is out. That way most of the good games will go for a fairly cheap price and the library should be more padded.

I would say that is open to debate, but Mario Kart (like most games that have Mario in the title) are generally better games than the vast majority of "hardcore" titles; but the hardcore titles are far better interactive storytelling experiences.

Mario games are hardcore titles. They are transversal hardcore titles.

not really,  mario kart certainly isnt of higher quality than uncharted or games like red dead redemption. the only mario games that you can use to argue that are the 3D mario games because they keep proving them selfs as extremely high quality games. but mario kart certainly isnt better than most hardcore games. its freaking  fun as hell!! its extremely popular but it isnt better

Well, clearly Mario Kart sells better than Uncharted does, but that isn't news to anyone, and can't really be discussed because it's an undeniable fact.

Describing it as "more relevant", though, is rather strange.
