It's quite widespread these days, it's very difficult not to know anyone who has a bluray. Unless you live in Spain or one of those countries where no one buys movies, period...

In the other countries I've lived (UK and Japan) they are quite popular.

I just did a quick count, about 250, counting box sets as one.
And between 2 and 3 times as many dvds judging by the shelf space, I didn't bother to count them.
Plus 2 moving boxes with Laserdiscs which I haven't touched since the player broke :/

I've only bought 1 3D blu-ray, then I checked out a few 3D tvs in different stores and walked away with a headache and/or general disappointment in the picture quality every time, so I figured screw that. I'll wait for 4K instead.

I use the ps3 as a player, Yamaha RX-V3800 amp, B&W FPM5 x 5, B&W PV1 sub, Panasonic PT-AE1000U 1080p projector with 92" screen. Picture and sound quality are amazing.

Somewhere in the neighborhood of twenty, I guess. I buy all of the DC Comics movies and a few kids movies like How to Train Your Dragon because they look amazing in Blu Ray. I have a couple of 3D Blu Rays, too. Aside from that, I just download everything digitally.

It's an amazing movie! I would even rank it as one of my favorites even.

I probably have about 30-40 blurays though for the past couple years I kinda stopped buying movies, Ill still pick up the odd movie if its really cheap but owning movies just does not seem worth it to me anymore.
