I don't hate Apple, but I can certainly think of a few things I do hate about them. For starters, I never liked those old "I'm a Mac" commercials. I thought they were dumb. On a more personal note, an example of what I hate most about Apple is my iPod. I got a second-gen Touch in '08, when it was brand new. Apps were just starting to take off, and I thought it was pretty neat that I could play games on this thing. Then one year later, they released the third-gen, and the year after that, fourth-gen. 18 months after I had gotten my iPod, it was no longer receiving App support. A lot of the Apps I did have were updated to work only on later-gen iPods.
Apple's incessant need to have a major hardware revision every year is a pain in the neck. I say 'major' because it's not like they just improved the camera a little bit or increased the battery life or something. They gave it a new, faster processor, doubled the RAM, changed the OS. It completely changed the way developers approached the platform. Sorry, Apple, I don't need to replace my iPod every year, or every other year, or every three years. I like to make my expensive electronic devices last as long as I can. Apparently this isn't really an issue for 3rd-gen owners, since that's still being supported now, 3 years after its release, but I'd be willing to bet that in the months following the release of the 5th-gen (presumably this October, assuming the Touch line won't be discontinued entirely), support for 3rd-gen will start to die out. Three years still isn't a great length of time. It would be like buying a DS in 2004, only for Nintendo to release the DSi in '05 and then the 3DS in '07.
In spite of all of this, I don't hate Apple because they make good products.
