Forums - General Discussion - Future of Data: Encoded in DNA

I am waiting for the day when I an inject nanoparticles into my bloodstream and see the interwebz in front of me wherever I go. That will be true portable gaming.

Anyway this is cool. I guess more storage space is better.

can someone save something i want in my dna and then i am a specialist for that? that would be cool^^

Somehow, the bio-robots from the end of A.I. don't seem too far fetched now...

It would be cool to be like these people.

^ Science and most avant-garde technology advances slower than most people think. There has been talk of synthetic meat for over 40 years now and we're still far of seeing some viable, commercial application. Sometimes things outright don't work, but the research is used to fuel another previously unthought breakthrough.

Still I expect biotechnology to radically influence and change people's lives by the turn of the century just like computers did in the previous decades.

Does this mean we'll have DNA thiefs in the future, stealing information & stuff like this?

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

I'm so glad I live in the time period that I do. At this rate I'll die 3-5 years right before the human race fucks itself over by creating the ultimate demise through either robotics or organic life creation.

My poor children! Muahahahaha!
