Sometimes I wonder whether Microsoft are going to cut the price or if they are going to keep it up to build up the perception of them being a 'premiere brand'. The good thing about their actions regardless is that people ought to be more willing to buy close to launch given the fact that they kept the price so consistant these past years and they covered their early mistakes with an extended warranty. With Sony I get the feeling that a price cut AND a revision are likely to be close at hand so sometimes I feel that buying on launch can leave you in the lurch on both.

They don't need a pricecut right now. 360 doesn't sell at all in Japan but in other Market they are almost on par with PS3 so why cut the price when they can cash in as much as they can until the holydays... They'll cut the prices when WiiU and PS3 Slim release imo!

Vita :( such a great handheld with such potential, but such bad sales.. Ps3 is holding quite well actually. No way will it drop below 100k this year.

3ds sales in Japan are really good. Nintendo must be really happy with how it's going out there. Couldn't say the same for Europe or America though. I just can't understand why pokemon black and white 2 is only coming out for the DS. It's just crazy.

This only includes 1 day of sale for the 3DS XL, so I don't want to really comment it yet until next week's numbers. I will say that NOE should have waited until New Super Mario Bros. 2 for a bigger jump in sales like NOJ and potentially like NOA.

C'mon Kowenicki, you've been here long enough to know that just posting wrong and bolding something someone said isn't going to contribute to the argument, you could really put at least some effort into explaining why you think they're wrong.

Overall, these are still pretty poor numbers and everything is how it always is.

No, the redesign sold around 190k in 2 days, didn't it? And the normal model sold around 50k for the whole week.

Plus the Slim released in September. the 240k week was just a boost from FF13 and it's sexy White PS3 bundle

But yeah the 3DS redesign is the second best selling redesign in the history of Japan just behind the PSP-2000.. and that was four days worth of sales! (Around 250k if i'm not mistaken)..

And considering that the XL is not technically an "improvement" or replacement but rather a modification or a "preference", this makes the numbers look all the bit more impressive!
