Kojima Productions has staple-gunned an August 6 release date to its much-anticipated Trophy patch for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots.

The update includes 34 Trophies for the stealth-action sequel, which was originally released back in June 2008. In addition, it also features the ability to fully install the game on PS3’s hard drive, as opposed to having to install data between chapters.

Series creator Hideo Kojima is believed to be chiselling away on Metal Gear Solid 5, and plans to showcase a new project running on the Fox Engine in late August.

Man, I would almost have had the platinum already (so sad). Not sure if I can make myself do another 4 playthroughs to get the Big Boss Emblem. The patch to do one large install is nice!

Actually speaking of when it was released, I was thinking of how amazing the game was and it came out in '08, which is pretty crazy.

I bought a PS3 about 4 months before and could not believe at the time how incredible MG4 was. To this day myself (and others) still believe it was the reason the PS3 took off until Uncharted 2 came out

Ya, '09 was when the ps3 just got a lot of goodies, Demon's Souls, Uncharted 2, and Infamous to name a couple.

Off to game to re buy this tomorow :) just completed all the mgs hd collection so it will be great to play mgs 4 again.

traded in MGS4 awhile ago....but's it's like $5 used at gamestop
