Forums - Nintendo Discussion - 2D Mario is in decline. Less than 42% sell-through for NSMB2

New Super Mario Bros. 2 sold more in its first week than Super Mario 3D Land...
Like, a hundred thousand more...
I suppose it could be argued that the simultaneous release of the 3DS XL helped it sell that well...
But if anything I would think New Super Mario Bros. 2 helped the 3DS XL sell that well...

Have a nice day...

This seems like some serious spin......

As others have said Nintendo gamez are all about legs. And since when is a 42% sell through in two days bad? NSMB2 Will sell many many copies and Nintendo will hugely profit from it.....trust me

I highly doubt 2D Mario is in decline. Like everyone here already said, Nintendo games usually have amazing legs.(sexy)

But I wish they would try something different with their 2D Mario games. I didn't enjoy NSMB Wii and Super Mario 3D Land that much, it was kinda boring for my tastes.

People are obsessed with COD numbers. Everyone automatically assumes every game will sell 6 million launch day, geez. It's called legs and enough stock. I rather have this. Than that whole mess with Wii being out of stock for MONTHS.

So it can't just be over-shipped?

This title will have legs... Both Mario Kart and Mario 3D Land are still selling over 30,000 weekly worldwide.

Shameless plug. Buy P4 Arena it's fantastic.

Also doesn't the XL come with a free copy of NSMB2?

When do we learn the number of downloads?

42.  they shut their servers down after that.  in reality the whole thing is nintendo trolling the world.  this holiday you'll see when they launch their "mario is the meaning of life" campain..

Nintendo games and especially 2D Mario games normally have extremely awesome legs, so this isn't worrying at all :)

2012 - Top 3 [so far]

                                                                             #1                                       #2                                      #3

They intentionally overshipped for certain upcoming high sales days. There is no decline.
