Has anyone cleared turn 13? My static is still smashing our heads against Bahamut's deformed chest.

My FC did, without me. lol sorry.

You know what will help? Poison potions. Get a bunch of them. All those dots will help. BELIEVE IT!

Moreso trying to get our new WHM to heal more and for the off-tank to pick up adds better.

Heard some pretty bad things about chocobo racing. Card games are fun though.

Hey guys, I apologize if this has already been mentioned numerous times, but I really want to buy this game and play it. I've watch lots of video reviews on the game and FFXIV: ARR reminds me of FFXII because of how huge the world seems. I also checked the subscription model and it actually does not seem expensive at all and looks totally worth it. I plan on getting the PS3 version because I don't have a PS4 and I don't think my Dell laptop can run it. But at the same time, I have absolutely no experience with MMOs. Would you guys recommend this game? How is it on the PS3?

I'll try to be as  objective as possible. First of all, let's talk about the PS3 thing...the game is quite enjoyable on Sony's old platform, since  it's basically the same. The problem is, this is a really demanding game to run and in some cases ps3's lack of power negatively affect the experience (you will see the frame rate drop to single digit in some extreme cases). Also, consider that heavensward will be the (first and) last expansion that will be available for the PS3. Eorzea is really beutiful on PS4 and PC...not as much on PS3, but of course if you don't care about visuals, go with the PS3 version, you will just have slower loading times and worse graphics. I strongly suggest the PS4 version, but this is simply because I think that better graphics really matter in this game because of how beatiful the world is. Just my opinion of course.

I was inexperienced with MMOs as well before I started playing FFXIV...at first it was really confusing. This kind of games has so much content that you don't know what to do first...and the world is quite big (and will grow even more with heavensward!), so it's easy to get lost. Well, I got lost a lot of times also in Ul'dah and Limsa Lominsa (2 of the 3 big cities), but this is a game you must dive in for some time before you really get to know it. I absolutely recommend it, but only if you have enough time to fully enjoy it. Remember that, as every MMO, the more time goes by, the more content is added through several patches. If you start playing know, you'll have a lot of backlog to go through.

This is obvious, but the most important thing in a mmo is finding a good guild (called "free company") with nice and friendly players that can help you in the initial stages. Don't just join the first FC that invites you because they want your contribution for gathering FC points :P

Hey thanks for the reply! Yah, I'm not a graphics whore so if the game can run fine on the PS3 then I'll just get that version. I do hear that the game has some lag issues and framerate issues as you mentioned but it seems that overall, the game does run fine on PS3. And yes, I have seen footage of the PS4 and PC versions of the game and it looks great!
