Plus Japan is getting it first so there definitely will be some info that will get leaked before it hits America and Europe.

Let me ask you...isn't it possible that there's problems with localization and the US online system, and they need a few extra weeks to work it out?

Because honestly, I don't believe that they'd delay the game 4 more weeks, angering fans, just for more consoles in stock. There's probably 6 million Wii owners ready to buy this game already...

I don't doubt a lot of owners are ready to buy it, my friend already reserved it and doesn't even own a Wii yet, I got my copy fully paid off in October so mine will definitely be there at launch. There's a lot of people coming in reserving the game at Game Stop so yeah if its happening where I'm at its happening everywhere most likely, its going to be a big hit, maybe not 6 million off the bat big but really big none the less.

Why haven't we recieved any info on the numbers of pre-orders yet? For Halo 3 that came up everywhere all the time (even before it was the most pre ordered ever.

Nintendo (as much as we want to paint a pretty picture about the company) is still a business. SSBB will be the most anticipated game in a long time for real gamers, Nintendo wants to get as many real gamers as possible to adapt to the becuase the attach rate will be much better than the casual who bought WiiSports and WiiPlay only... and plan on getting WiiFit... The march delay makes so much sense, it takes what 3 weeks for console to come to by boat? The spacing seems just about right between US and Japan on this one... I don't know when SSBB is coming out in Others, but if it follows this pattern, it should be late april(5-6 weeks after NA release)

According to Gamestop here where they're doing a midnight launch, there are already more than 300 pre-orders, and there are still 6-7 weeks until the launch.  Of course, that could just be the sales guy blowing smoke up my ass.  I didn't ask to see the list (and I hope they wouldn't show me).
