Avengers was fun and to me the best comic book movie ever made , but The Dark Knight Rises gose above that by dragging you into the moment and never letting go from the begin to the credits.

excatly! Man if that shooting never happened than Dark Knight Rises would be tracking ahead of Harry Potter, The Dark Knight and maybe even the Avengers in terms of domestic box office.

I would almost consider the two in different genres. They are very different in tone focus and style. I can't even compare them. It's like trying to compare Terminator 2 and Gone With the Wind.

Avengers was a decent flick and TDKR was a pretty awesome flick.

I feel as though I can't give TDKR a fair review since I just saw Star Wars Ep. 4-6 a few days before going to see TDKR.

Reminds me of when both The Dark Knight and Iron Man came out in 2008. Both fantastic films in their own right, but about as opposite as you could get on the comic book movie spectrum.

But once again I'm going to have to go with the Batman on this one. While The Avengers is as good of a time as you can get at the movies, The Dark Knight Rises transcends its genre to become an unforgettable movie experience.

In fact, I'm going to watch TDKR again tonight with the family. Can't wait. ^_^

I couldn't put it better myself.  Avengers was a simple, go fight bad guys movie with fancy effects.  Very entertaining.  Dark Knight Rises was something a bit more.  It wasn't just about fighting the bad guys and saving the day.  Dark Knight Rises can't compete in terms of action sequences, cause realistically speaking, not much can compete with a god of thunder and green giant kicking ass.  But what Dark Knight Rises does do, is give you something a bit more thought provoking, what will this one man do to save his city?  Is giving his life the most important thing?  Can't say Avengers does any of that.
