Leave it to Chococlcoc to jump in and mention winter sports. Winter sports are a whole nother ball game. I wonder if Phelps still has it in him?

Hey, the summer will be better when rugby comes in 2016. We need football, baseball, and  cricket, to make it better.

Also, when half the USA winter olympic team comes from Colorado you tend to be arrogant about the Winter olympics. The US Olmpic training center is in my home city so I have extra inccentive to be prideful. Meet tons of Cyclists near the center they are so crazy fit.

The Olympic stadium looks really cool!

So let me get this straight---------Last time you guys pushed out 47 medals in China ( The country you sort of basically owned for 100 years) and now you expect to jump up to the 90's?

Stop being a Dingy Bird Conegamer and give us a proper Prediction, instead of what you gave us.

Yes. We got 1 (one) Gold in 1996. We've never been in better shape!

And the home games tend to give you an extra 10-15% on top of your medals table, even as high as 20%. And the funding has quadrupled from Beijing. And Brits are far more dominant now than they used to be. I stick by 80-90 medals for the UK, and 3rd overall.

Considering the home feild advantage probably helped Canada take the medal count in the Vancouver Olympics and China take the gold count last summer Olympics; I think high expectations for the British is a reality and not false expectations.

Exactly. At least someone agrees with me :P

Anyway, pic from the area. Red Arrows have just flown past, but they live about 10 miles from me so I see them all the time :

THEY MADE F***ING CLOUDS!

China is all about winning. You don't remember when news got out that they train young teens (around 13 I think it was) extremely hard?

They are tough!

I thought you were Chinese based on your Avatars?

And yes your people are known to be forceful in the training of athletes.

Yep. It looks pretty hardcore alright! Reminds me of home, a typical countryside theme

Does anyone have a link to a site which is actually streaming the ceremony? There's the BBC channel, but not everyone can see that apparently...

Watch out, because they're gonna rain later... (Sshh! We need to let them think we control the weather! )

How do I watch this momentous occasion in America? Anyone know if it will be on NBC? I know that everything will be On Demand, and a higher Cable channel and ESPN. But I am not positive about main events.

It'll be shown on NBC, but not for another 3 hours...

Try the BBC link I linked in a previous post.
