Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New ZombiU trailer and screenshots

The best thing this game has going for it is that it seems genuinely scary. None of the other recent big "survivor horror" titles like Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead have been scary. I haven't had any good scares since playing games like Eternal Darkness and Clock Tower 3 last gen.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

Looks good. Seems genuinely scary, and it looks pretty darn good, for a launch game...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I heard a frightening comment a while ago suggesting that this game is a rail-shootet. Most certainly bullshit though (otherwise my interest for this title would drop like a rock).

Anyway, I'm really looking forward to this title, which is very unusual since this is an actual third party title on a Nintendo console. The entire gaming industry is in desperate need of more survival-horror games!

The first minutes of that vid clearly show that it's not an on-rails shooter:

Please excuse my bad English.

Nice. Is this open world? I think I remember people saying it was, but the E3 demo made it look quite linear.

In a sense it's non-linear. You have a specific set of missions, and a specific order in which to do them, but you don't have a set character. You are allowed one life. If you die, you pick up with another character (another survivor-i don't know how many there are or if you eventually 'run out' of people) and you have to find the body of the last character you played as, pick up your items, and continue. So you're not following events unfolding around a specific character like you are in Resident Evil, for example. But it definitely is not a GTA style game.

Babble babble bitch bitch rebel rebel party party sex sex sex and don't forget the violence. Blah blah blah got your lovey-dovey sad and lonely stick your stupid slogan in. Everybody sing along.

this is something I myself have not been able to asertain. I don't even know if there is a mission or not lol.

This dev walkthrough was some what interesting though on the gameplay of the game.

That's because it does! Will probably be my WiiU launch game...as well as Pikmin 3 if it's out!

I'm more impressed by the total absence of an on-screen HUD than I am by any screenshot. Intense.
